Congrats to MI. I would be surprised if they do not win IPL looking at the firepower they got. RCB left exposed about their weaknesses. Here is what we could have made it a more competative match
1) Nannes Hurt- The strike bowler had a injury and was hence out of the attack. his wicket maiden 1st over was outstanding. abd RCb could have fought well win 3 more overs of his.
2) Mayank facing Malinga- this seemed ridiculous to me! Why let a youngseter take strike first against the deadly bowler when their is a seasoned Dilshan! he should have face Malinga first up. It might would have protected n saved Mayak's wicket who could do well to have attacked Murtaza n Pollard. could have helped add 10-15 more runs to the total if not more.
3) Bowling support- Vettori, Nannes, Zaheer are world class. But the rest a absolutly poor. If one of these 3 have a tough day (which is very likely to happen) the bowling is ripped apart. Abhimanyu, yet again as i said is pathetic. No accuracy, avg pace, not at all clever variations... He is facing entirely different class of batsmen in IPL than his ranji mates. High time he is replaced now. The support of DIlshan, Virat, Asad is totaly part time quality. So all the pressure created by better bowlers is lost. Look at MI.. Lasith went for 32 runs but the support bowling of Murtaza, Harbhajan, Pollard make it such a quality attack.
4)Asad over Tiwary- What was Asad doing ahed of Tiwary who was paid 1.6 mn to get! Asad is not yet a proven Yusuf Pathan and should never really come ahed of Tiwary.
RCb has a huge weakness in the bowling. So against KKR, CSK, MI... I dont consider them clear favourites. they can well be making the semi's spot. But IPL victory will take too much improvment. Just read that Sri team will be caled back for training for Eng tour... So MI loose big in Malinga & RCB by Dilshan n Nuwan...
