MITHUN TURNS 21
Ideally this would be a podcast but since i have got the most awful cold(probably from sipping that cold shake at the meet up) i will have to be satisfied with writing about the sweetest, most humble cricketer i have come across Silent Assassin Mithun!!
Our meet up at Mocha on the 23rd was made extra special by him showing up to cut the Birthday cake!! It was funny seeing tall ,manly Mithun cut a pink cake but he was such a good sport!!
I got to know him during the CLT20 when the Chiefs had dinner with him and a few of the team ,The whole dinner was passed trying to make Mithun talk!! This pacer not only answers in monosyllables but speaks so softly that it is indeed hard to understand him!Mithun's story is an inspiration to everyone!! He first held a cricket ball only at the age of 17!! Made his Ranji debut and shocked selectors by his pace and perfect line and length now at the age of 21 he has already player for India!! You expect someone of his stature to be proud and haughty but you will not find a more down to earth cricketer than Mithun! I am sure for the fans who got to meet him it will be a moment they will never forget i know i wont! I wish this young man all the best in the future,in cricket and in life! This guy is going to be India's next pace sensation and he deserves every success that comes his way! So Hats off and Happy Birthday to Abhimanyu Mithun..Our Rising Star!
