yes,you saw it right

Amidst frustration after being snubbed at the auction of IPL 2010,Pakistan started their old ‘sly fox’ tricks of trying to make the snub a international argument. But, once they realized that they can do nothing much about the issue PCB has decided to provide some solace to the ‘pride and prejudice’ hurt Pakistanis by planning a league based on the lines of IPL. After having done some research on the issue,I have gathered some information which I would like to share.
According to some pak media reports Pakistan Cricket Board has got a tremendous response to buy franchise rights/sponsor teams in the planned Pakistan Premier League Twenty20 competition. A senior official of the Board said “We want to follow the same concept of selling franchise and sponsorship rights of the participating city teams and selling the title and broadcast rights separately.”
All of us know that none of the international teams will be willing to tour Pakistan especially after the Sri Lankan team agreed to tour relying upon their trust, were betrayed comprehensively. It was as if terrorists have made every inch of Pakistan their home! Acknowledging that it would be hard for the tournament to be held under the give circumstances in Pakistan, PCB has decided to move closer to the ICC by planning to host the tournament in UAE spread across the gulf diamond cities-Abu Dhabi,Dubai and Sharjah,in a bid to attract international players.

But the major factor that goes against the popularity of the league is the prize money. The total prize money of the league is reportedly 1 million USD,2/3rds of Dhoni’s IPL fee! ,which has been broken up as Winners: 350,000$ Runners up: 200,000$ Man of the Tournament: 150,000$ Best Batsman: 100,000$ Best Bowler: 100,000$ Best Fielder: 100,000$.This is way below the Pro T20 series of SA and the KFC bigbash. This puts serious questions on the PCB about the foreign players participating in the league. All we can do at this point in time is wait for PCB to answer this query through the plan of action they take.
These widespread rumors of PPL come in the backdrop of the Karachi champions league(KCL) that has been officially announced. The tournament, a brainchild of Latif and the Rashid Latif Cricket Academy (RLCA) will feature a number of Karachi-based international players, as well as a host of domestic cricketers. Younis Khan, Shahid Afridi, Khalid Latif, Fawad Alam, Khurram Manzoor and Sarfraz Ahmed, among others, have confirmed their willingness to play. Will PPL follow KCL?? Only time will tell.

But one thing is for certain with soo much of cricket abuzz a cricket fan will never find time to do anything else if such series of tournaments continue!!
I would like to thank my friend from Pakistan who helped me compile this article.PS-not naming him coz he dint want to be named!!
