PHILANDER , STEYN SINKS SRILANKA
Philander takes another 5 wicket haul as Srilanka were all out once again for 150 runs !!! Making RSA to win the 1st test match.
Vernon Philander claimed his third five-wicket haul in as many Test
matches as South Africa dominated the first day of the first Test
against Sri Lanka at SuperSport Park on Thursday.
Srilankan Skipper Tilakrathnae Dilshan continued his poor captaincy and poor batting.

Sri Lanka were bowled out for 180 and South Africa replied with 90
for one, with captain Graeme Smith hitting 61 before he was out eight
balls before the close.
Philander took five for 53 and fellow fast bowler Dale Steyn grabbed
four for 18 as Sri Lanka struggled after being sent in on a green pitch
which offered bounce and movement to the South African quicks.

Philander continued to pile up the records with match figures of 10 for
102 to make it four five-wicket hauls in six Test innings.
.Facing a deficit of 231 on a surface offering help to the quicks was a
daunting prospect and Sri Lanka soon started to crumble. Tillakaratne
Dilshan departed first against some skilful seam and swing bowling from
Philander who produced a delivery that nipped back then straightened to
find the edge low to Mark Boucher.

The home side's bowlers needed just 39.1 overs to dismantle the
opposition batting line-up for a second time to reinforce the pre-series
predictions that this could be a very one-sided contest
