How the Chiefs and fans can scheme to get RCB the upper hand @ IPL-3.
And it stays only between us.
Hey guys!
We start traveling tomorrow but like the long organic chemistry sessions in school, time seems to be slowing down!
All the same, here's something fun that we could do this IPL.
Last night, I got a message from Disha Shetty that set an idea rolling.
She was at DY Patil stadium watching KKR and DC practise, and casually mentioned how the team in purple was sweating it out while four Chargers looked on smugly, upbeat and relaxed.
I put away the surprise gift I'm carrying on us fans' behalf for a minute, and wondered how it would be if RCB fans from all over the country could turn into the team's very own detective squad.
While we scurry around to keep you posted about everything you want to know about our guys, it would be awesome if you could tell us what the others are up to.
The drills they do, the mood in the camp, player secrets you chanced upon, the works.
Post comments, email documents, photographs, videos, whatever you think will aid RCB.
Maybe we could even collate it, say gracias to the contributors and present a document to Ray from time-to-time!
We'll call the project 'Fly on the Wall', and if need be, devise code language to relay messages.
I can run a series titled 'Psst' every day and we'll ask the moderators if we can tweak the site such that the comments are visible only to fans who are signed in.
Thanks for clarifying and I trust your capabilities and I am sure you would deliver the goods. Good luck. Hope to see more interesting posts from your end.
@ WP - Dude, chill it. Read this for yourself "Hey, please do collect all the autographs for me and you can hand them over to me when you come to Delhi"
Common dude...be practical of what you write and how to defend after that. Don't blame you though. I understand every fans desire is to have their idols autograph but all I am trying to say is that let Aneesh not do it now. Players do not appreciate it between a tournament as big as IPL. Let's respect that. When you start circulating autograph bats / book in the middle of a tournament, it does not look professional especially when Aneesh is actually part of the team.
Nobody is restricting fans to meet up with players. Let them do it through their contacts or may be through RCB management or through any other source. Read my post ans thats what I am saying. But not through Aneesh as he stays with the team. Today 2 fans...tomorrow 10 would like to meet and that doesn't look good and professional. Hope you understand. No hard feelings dude. Hope to see you part of the Mighty 14 in Delhi. Good luck.
@ Disha - Thats great. Post some good snaps and article on the event. Have fun :-)
Just when I thought and agreed with Siva, about the whole espionage thing being not so realistic idea, I have been asked by the UB group to be the official photo-blogger of the Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals Fashion show and after party hosted by Lalit Modi here in Mumbai today.
So not spying on the other teams but just capturing the moods and the zeal of the players is the requisite for this event. Hope it ain't too miffing, its a UB event & IPL event after all.
Good to see you giving good advice to Aneesh. Whatever, I said to him was in good humour and even I know that it is not going to be possible for him to meet fans like me or to provide autographs to us. Don't get so worked up and btw, fans are not morons or some thieves, who should be discouraged. Wish you had learnt to right things in a proper way. Not your fault maybe.
Don't get autographs till the last day of the tournament. Please dont do it in between. Also if fans need to come and meet players in the hotel, it needs to be through some other contact / RCB management. Do not encourage friends / fans to come and visit you so that they can meet up with players.
Would love to be there at Ferozeshah Kotla, though, it all depends on the votes :). I am confident that I will make it to the mighty 14. Hey, please do collect all the autographs for me and you can hand them over to me when you come to Delhi. In fact, it would be great if the club RC fanatics could meet up while the team is in Delhi. I wonder if it is too much of a wish? :)
You misunderstood me or probably misquoted your own words :). You don't need to clarify bro as i know that all this is written in good jest. When one turns into a detective squad and use things like code language, it can be called espionage, isn't that so?
What I meant to say was, nobody would be able to really gather any special information apart from the one that would be doing rounds in the newspapers. The media constantly hounds players anyhow and any information worth mention can be accessed by being media aware, which I am sure, RC is.
Therefore, I had requested you to, rather, provide us with information on our team.
I trust your abilities and I know that I won't be disappointed, though, game for more :)
I'm not asking anyone to enter grounds or hotels with spy cams and freak out the security :)
Just looked at it as a fun forum where RCB fans from all over can share their tidbits whenever they are close to the action this IPL (Net sessions, Matches etc.)
If you get hold of news from close up which is fun and of interest, you can use this forum to share it in!
@disha-shetty: That's the spirit! Don't know about barging in (:P) but observations from the boundary and chats with other fans should do.
@Siva: Yes, yes :) We're not replacing the team analyst or taking out the opposition with the above activities. Your concerns about other team fans being members are legitimate and this series is definitely not about letting loose on the other franchises.
The idea is just to get fans to comment on what they've noticed when they're close to the action and have some fun here on the forum. If anything emerges, we'll be glad to pass it onto the team.
The 'Maybe' in my post has been used based exactly on what you're thinking.
And yes, no RCB team strategies will ever be leaked out through the blog. So don't worry :)
@Wizard prince: We don't 'need espionage' :) We're just trying to see if we can have fun with the experiences RCB fans are having with the IPL in different parts of the country.
And yes, our focus is on updating everyone in the RC family about our team more than anything else, so you won't be disappointed :)
@Marybaby00: I'm flattered, but if it concerns RC, you should share it here.
Your intentions are good no doubt, but, this is practically an impossible idea. If one tries to get too close and poaching on the rival teams, he/she may land in the interrogation chambers of the nearest police station. It will be imprudent to even think that one can get any meaningful inputs from a distance. Why do we need espionage anyway? RC is a good team and being the man at the helm of action, give us some bytes about the team and its own preparations. We are looking forward to info on mood and activities in club RC.
Please how are you! hope you are fine and in perfect condition of health.I wentthrough your profile at www.royalchallengers.com and i read it and took interest in it,please if you don't mind i will like you to write me on my mail address(mary77_b@yahoo.com )hope to hear from you soon, and I will bewaitingfor your mail because i have something VERY important to tell you. Lots of love
Mary.
Not a realistic idea. How does it stay only between us? This site is open to anyone in the world and all information posted are accessible by everyone. To get inside information you need to be part of the practice session, in dressing room, in team hotel, in team meeting etc...just standing in the stands and watching / photographing a practice session will not reveal any strategy to gun down an opposition. But if we can get such information, it's great and how do RCB fans get access to such close quarters of other teams. I hope you understand. It might be just good for the RCB fans to know what is happening in other camps. The team analyst will take care of the details like team / player weakness and strengths from the opposition.
Also note that we would be already spied upon online. All that we post here are noted by other teams. So posting here wont help. It's a easy give away. Even if you make available only to members, I am sure there are already other team fans who act as RCB members just to gather some insights. So we need to be very careful of what we are projecting and communicating on forums / blogs.
Hey thats a great idea. Hope we get a chance to barge in, amidst the tightened security. Its either DY patil, Azad Maidan (mumbai indians camp), or brabourne here.

Everybody up for some espionage?
