Pujara strengthens the Indian side with his dazzling ton..

In the opening day of the 2 test Airtel series,Cheteshwar Pujara guided India to reach 307/5 slamming a dashing ton.

Pujara’s comeback performance in the  international side, after almost  20 months,provided some hope to all cricket lovers who thought that Indian test squad would be feeble, sans Rahul Dravid and VVS Lakshman.Pujara justified himself,as the correct replacement for the number 3 position.

G Gambhir’s departure on the 9.6th over brought in  C Pujara,on strike.He faced C Martin & T Boult in his initial overs. Pujara remained undeterred, with the fall of big wickets like S Tendulkar & V Kohli, in front of him. 


2nd Test 50 for Pujara

Pujara  took a lot of time hit his first boundary,which came out  in the 25th over,which even brought along a 100 for India.Combining his brilliant four’s with singles and doubles,Pujara reached 49 and then his 2nd test fifty ,with a touch delivery around off at  125.8 kph,which he whacked for a boundary,that took him to 53(119).India's Pujara hits a shot during the first day of their first test cricket match against New Zealand in Hyderabad

Not to forget,another RCBian Virat Kohli,further consolidated the Indian runs with a handsome 58 out of 106 balls,before departing to a loose shot. 


Maiden test ton for Pujara

Pujara sent a length outside off delivery from C Martin ,for a boundary,which placed him just just 1 run away from him maiden  test 100.The contentment in Pujara’s face was finally seen after he scored that sole, 1 run with which he dedicated a ton to the Indian score boards.India's Pujara raises his bat to celebrate scoring a century during the first day of their first test cricket match against New Zealand in Hyderabad

Pujara was slow but very careful throughout the whole of his day 1 innings.He stopped at 119* (226) not out at  the end of day 1 with M S Dhoni (29*) on strike with him.

Pujara is a man of great potential, no doubt. He's got great technique and skill. To me, he seems to be the best replacement for VVS Laxman.
