RCB crushes the RedBacks & March into the Semi’s…

This was one of the most fabulous games of 20-20 that cricket had ever seen. With 214 runs to chase,RCB went all out and made it happen like true champions.

The South Australia RedBacks Innings:-

When Nannes & Arvind came out to bowl, expectations was that wickets would fall. But the South Australia RedBacks had something else in hand which surprised many including the fans & players. The pitch was tailor made for the batsmen and it was a turner for helping out the spinners. D.Harris who was quite throughout the tournament was up against his favorite opponents against whom he had scored few years ago in the same tournament. Harris was near perfect in every shot he played after Warner assault the other day against the CSK, it was Harris show all way long in the 1st half of the match. He scored a brilliant century and remained not out till the end scoring 108runs of just 61 balls with 17 fours and 2 sixes. After Captain Klinger departed early on, Ferguson played yet another big knock making 70 in just 43 balls whacking 3 huge sixes. This was not enough as yet and DT Christian arrived at the crease to make life miserable for the bowlers. He played a majestic knock of 27 runs in just 9 balls as the RedBacks went on to make 214 in the end. Barring Captain Daniel Vettori who gave away just 24 runs in his 4 overs spell all the RCB bowlers went for way too many.

Gayle's Firework, Kohli's & Dilshan's Magic & Team work did it all :-

The Target was big, but the confidence level was still up. The RCB players were hungry for the win and it did show in their batting skills. The Target did not make them fear but in fact the opponents shiver. Gayle & Dilshan had heavy burdens on their shoulders and they pulled this one without any pressure. Gayle played yet another fantastic knock but it was short lived as he fell for 26runs in just 15 balls whacking 3 biggies out of the park. The thought was in everyone's mind that as Gayle has gone the show was over.

Dilshan and Virat Kohli batted beautifully and stole the show for RCB. Virat Kohli was majestic in his knock and he did not spare anyone who came on his way at all. He played a real blinder. With 6 mammoth Sixes in his name, Virat Kohli was in for the game. His partnership with Dilshan was the highlight of the match as their 100 runs partnership in quick succession made everything possible. Virat Kohli scored 70 in just 36 balls along with Dilshan who made magnificent 74 in just 47 balls yet again boundaries flying as 9 fours and 2 sixes came of his bat. Virat departed leaving RCB is a comfortable position to chase as without him and Dilshan it would not have been possible.

Arun Karthik- The new found Hero:-

Tait was handed the ball even after going to too many, and he did not let his captain down as wickets fell in heap for RCB. Even though wickets kep walling in heaps, The batsmen came and went every one got a big six each to their kitty not letting the run rate to fall down. The last over was a real thriller as KB Arun Karthik was the only batsmen at the crease. J Syed Mohammad was sadly run out and 6 runs was needed of the last ball after Arvind intelligently ran in to give the strike to Karthik.

The bowler released the last ball and Arun Karthik played the shot of his life time which would be remembered for a long long time & he  became a true hero overnight, carting the ball a long way into the stands for a huge huge six as RCB crushed the Redbacks out of the tournament, to storm into the Semi-Finals of the Champions League 2011.

It was a highest run chase by any team in the Champions League T-20 made by RCB chasing down 214 runs with real strength of character shown by all. It was a fabulous team work which paved the way for the victory.

The 1st Semi-Finals would be between Royal Challengers Bangalore & New South Wales after which Mumbai Indians would take on the Somerset in the 2nd Semis. This is turning out to be one of the most exciting 20-20 games, that cricket has ever seen.

Wishing the Royal Challengers Bangalore All the very best to come out and emerge as the most deserving winners of the Champions League T-20 2011.
