What we missed out on in the semis. Plus, your thoughts on the XI for the 3rd place match?
At the pre match press conference, Anil Kumble spoke about the need to remain on top of the match for 40 overs, but we could muster only 15.
The one thing that was missing was intent.
After wayward bowling allowed Mumbai to get to a total they should never have reached, we missed out on an opportunity to take the fight to the opposition by not going aggressive in the beginning of the chase.
It has been my feeling watching the team practise these past few days that youngsters leading the way at the top of the batting order might buoy the camp, but it didn't happen.
All's not lost though. A 3rd place match beckons, and it'd be interesting to see what combination is picked.
Why Not....?? MERWE, MORGAN, BOUCHER, WHITE, MITHUN, SRIRAM, AKHIL, GOSWAMI, APPANNA, SUNIL JOSHI & PANKAJ SINGH....:-)) May be they will be thru to the Champions League....!!
Hahaaaa.....t's better all the rcb eleven who played semis....now take rest and watch the remaining eleven play the game....!! There's plenty of hidden power there in the other half!!

Mr. Chief Blogger…..why do you want to know what fans think…. And what would you do with the information from the fans….ohhhhh I think you have a direct contact with team coach Mr. Jennings or is that with Mr.Captain Kumble and you will share this information with em right???….
Fortunately for you I just don’t want to put my ideas forward because I am not a conservative and Mr.Coach and Mr.Captain seems to be very happy right now and they don’t want to try anything different.
GO TO HELL RCB…OHH WAIT…U R ALREADY THERE I THINK….
RCB never deserved to be in the semi final first place….how could it be in the third place then….DC will thrash them royally like a piece of thrash for 3rd time this year…..SHAME ON YOU RCB….
More than anything, in the whole tournament RCB were trying to play to their potential but never did..
We saw some flashes and waited for the real show but it wasnt really going for them at crunch situation..And eventually we were out of the tournament..
Really disappointing to be out of the tournament in such a manner..The only joy now would be to qualify to CLT20 as you have stated..Hope to have a better performance from RCB..
Captaincy was not so good by Mr. Kumble in the Semifinal. For the next match replace Kallis & Taylor by C.White & Marve. And give rest to Pandey and take Akhil. Kumble need to utilize Spinners for Mumbai Pitch. Team 11 is:
Dravid
Goswamy
Pietersen
Kohli
Utappa
C. White
W.Marve
Akhil
Vinay Kumar
Steyn
Kumble
They need to put more efforts in the fielding. And finally our players need to count 100 to 0, before entering the pitch. Keep worries out and play without tension.
Give Kallis a rest finally,Bring in Eoin Morgan in his place...open with dravid-Pandey....followed by KP,Uthappa,Ross,Kohli,Morgan
have steyn in the bowling attack and Kumble,R Vinay,PK(although he is proving costly, you can have Pankaj Singh at his cost too.)
