RCB's challenges in the playoffs
what good the Kings11 loss has done to us.
Big reality check to all RCB fans if ur on a high due to the 7 match winning streak! Long time since I blogged about RCB n its because i wanted to see enough of RCB b4 commenting on this new formed team this year. The big factors that contributed to RCB success- 1) Gayle power 2) well paced Kohli batting 3) improved fielding 4) Aravind's emergence as a wicket taking bowler.
Now the sad part here is, the teams against which we had the long success run, had far less solutions to the biggest RCB matchwinning factor i.e Chris Galye. he is yet to face the best, smartest n variations laden bowlers (Malinga, Harbhajan, Ashwin, Bollinger, Abdulla) and could toy around hitting mediocre domestic bowlers for 20-30 run an over, n match is in RCB's pocket. being such a short format..such few big overs are enough to get to victory. but during the playoffs... RCB's matchwinnign factors could prove to be inadequate as the opposition has the the players to plan out RCB's strengths. Bret Lee produced so many edges of Gayle but fortunatly he survied. If such luck goes against n Gayle goes early, RCb batting gets different. other than Kohli n AB, ther is hardly any promise shown by the rest. RCB thus, is heavy dependant on its top 4 batters n its more weak when chasing if Gayle is gone early. Asad is a reckless, very imited skilled player. Tiwary, Kaif very out of form.. Mithun, as so so so very often gets batterd. even with having Zaheer in the team, he is not learning to be cleaver n deceptive in pace.
Great boost to have Vettori back in. Zaheer will be in too. Hope langavelt can stay but most likely he will exit for Luke or Vander Wath to boost batting. i rather suggest Mayank open with Gayle. Tiwary, Asad play finishers. have bowling of Langavelt, Vettori, Zaheer, Aravind. (anyone for Mithun seens better on paper atleast) Bowling will look very healthy. Arun Kartik better have a lot lot better day with the gloves.
all in all RCB is very potent side, but with definate weaknesses n will lift the trophy if players click at good time :)

The other teams will send their energy on him ,but we still have quality batsmen in kohli,Ab,the yet to fire tiwary! luke or mayank can chip in too..I still think we're the favourites..
