RCB's Karnataka boys Ready for Mumbai
Karnataka and RCB's boys are buoyed up for an encounter against Mumbai.
S Aravind, now of more a confident stature after being fielded in the Indian squad gets set for a fans’ delight of a match at the Cricket Club of India, Mumbai. Karnataka take on the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team in the premier domestic championship. Aravind showed a level headedness and composure that has marked him out as special. “No high fives and victory signs until the game finishes,” said India’s next probable pacer.
A. Mithun, another quickie also in the Indian team recently bowled and later took a batting knock with the team coach. “It’s a turner of a track,” said the fiery fast medium bowler, alluding to the fact that the team winning the toss would probably not want to bat last, meaning would want to bat first. He added “Both teams would be gunning for the three points they would get if they outscore the other in the first innings.”
Mumbai and Karnataka, both fiercely competitive and skillful sides have had a good run in the tournament with each one boosting their points tally with outright victories recently, Karnataka with an innings win.
CM Gautham, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s wicket-keeper talked about the exposure in RCB helping him as a keeper. “AB de Villiers gave me some tips and my whole approach is different now.” Gautham has been in RCB’s squad for four seasons but because of stiff competition from the overseas player de Villiers now and Mark Boucher during the first three seasons, has yet to play a match for RCB. However, the mere fact that the franchise has retained him shows their confidence in him and marks him out as one for the future.
Of course, all three of RCB’s cricketers are likely to take the field tomorrow. At this time of the year, there can be not better treat for RCBians than to watch this trio turn up for their home side, Karnataka. The ‘Lord’s of India’ as the Cricket Club of India is known, is more than an apt venue for this thrilling contest!
