More about this talented protean!
For someone who's still a while away from turning 22, Rilee Rossouw comes to B'lore with a big billing!
The talented southpaw is highly rated in his home country, and with some stunning and consistent domestic performance, he's got some of the finest in the business to sit up and take notice of his talent, and yes, he 's an RCB man!
So why haven't you heard more about him?
That's perhaps 'coz he's still only in his first season for RCB, and given the 4 foreign player rule, he really hasn't had the opportunity to get out into the centre. But given his potential, it's only a matter of time!
A South African cap is in the waiting, at no.3... An Ab in the making eh?!
(P.S.: For all those who've been to the RCB matches, he's the one with the friendly wave, cute smile, hanging there-there about in the dug out next to Ray Jennings!)
He's made it to the record books with the fastest triple ton in South Africa, and a series of impressive and consistent performances with his domestic team Eagles, has shown us glimpses of what's in store. He's also done good work with the South African A side in trying sub continent conditions.
Speaking of Rossouw's talent, his state team captain, Boeta Dipenaar has said, "I am prepared to bet my mortgage on it that he will have a long, successful career for South Africa."(sic)
With a testimonial like this, coming from as prominent a name in South African cricket, it's not too difficult to see why Ray jennings chose to have him in our squad.
Moreover, the experience of sharing a dressing room with the likes of Gayle, Vettori, Ab de Villiers and Kohli will only leave him richer on experience.
Add to that the backing of Dr. Mallya and Jennings, there's no telling what heights Rossouw can attain.
But for now, if he keeps his wits about him, employs more of that humour and charm we've heard/ seen at some media interactions, and lets his bat do the talking, don't be surprised to see him out in the middle at least next season, if not in the Champions League T20 itself!
So here's one hoping to see a lot more of Rilee!!! :)
As for, my prediction, once it come's true ... You know where you heard it first! ;)
Roussow is definitely one for the future!!!
