“ROYAL” CHALLENGE LOST - PHASE 1
Neva lose hope , the start Mayank Agarwal gave us , i thought it might be easy to chase down the total but wkts @ regular intervals and bad bowling has once again cost us a "Royal Challenge"
As a RCB'an im not here to Praise Rahanae's Excellent innings and Owais Shah's destructive innings ....Take a look at our Front line bowlers .
RCB FAN PULSE QUESTION 1 : IS RCB MISSING A ALL ROUNDER IN THE PLAYING ELEVEN ???
A LOOK AT THE BOWLING DEPARTMENT :
Muttiah Muralitharan : 4 overs 35 runs vs RR - Phase 1
: Our Top bowler at present . Muttiah Muralitharan is the most successful bowler in international cricket. The wily Sri Lankan off-spinner, who often battled questions over the legality of his bowling action, picked up 1,347 wickets in his international career – over 300 more than the second-best, Shane Warne. Murali has an unorthodox action for an off-spinner; he uses more of his rubber-like wrists than his fingers, and gets the ball to turn on almost all surfaces. An integral part of the Chennai Super Kings line-up in the first three seasons of the IPL, the 39-year-old was signed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the IPL Player Auction 2011.
Vinay Kumar : 4 overs 51 runs vs RR - Phase 1
R Vinay Kumar is a medium-pacer from Karnataka. He comes from a humble background – his father was an auto rickshaw driver – and has had to work harder than most to reach where he has. Apart from being the leader of Karnataka’s bowling attack, he is a consistent wicket-taker and a mentor to his teammates. Vinay Kumar, who has gone on to become a regular in India’s limited-overs team, got his Test cap during the recent tour of Australia. The Royal Challengers Bangalore recognised his talent and had him in their ranks for the first three seasons of the IPL. He played for Kochi Tuskers Kerala last year, but is back with the Bangalore franchise for IPL 2012. The Royal Challengers paid USD 1 million for him at the IPL Player Auction 2012.
Zaheer Khan : 4 overs 15 runs , 1 maiden , 1 wk vs RR - Phase 1
Part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore outfit in IPL 2008, India’s pace spearhead Zaheer Khan had a forgettable run back then. He moved to the Mumbai Indians camp for the next two seasons but was bought back by the Royal Challengers at the IPL Player Auction 2011 for USD 900,000. A seasoned campaigner, Zaheer has matured into a thinking cricketer. Khan has the ability to swing the ball and get breakthroughs in crucial situations and the charisma to command respect from opposition batsman. Zaheer, who has battled several injuries throughout his career, is still very much a force to reckon with.
Sreenath Aravind : 3 overs , 48 runs vs RR - Phase 1
Sreenath Aravind is a left-arm seamer who plays for Karnataka. A quick learner, he has made rapid strides in domestic cricket. Aravind even got called up to the Indian one-day team on the back of some strong local performances. He was roped in by the Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of IPL 2011 and has been retained by the franchise for IPL 2012. The 27-year-old was the Royal Challengers’ leading wicket-taker in his first season with the franchise. He was also an important part of the team during the 2011 CLT20
Raajoo Bhatkal : Proved too costly against the Super Kings
26-year-old Raajoo Bhatkal is on a comeback trail. The Belgaum all-rounder made his first-class debut for Karnataka in 2006-07, but struggled to maintain his place in the team. Given that he can deliver with both bat and ball, he continues to be an important member of the Karnataka limited-overs side. A right-arm medium-pacer and a right-hand batsman, Bhatkal was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore line-up in the 2011 CLT20 and will continue playing for the team in IPL 2012.
Daniel Vettori [ C ]: 4 overs , 20 runs + 1 wk vs RR Phase 1
One of the most economical bowlers in limited-overs cricket, Daniel Vettori is the skipper of the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The 33-year-old Kiwi, who gave up captaincy of his national team recently, played for the Delhi Daredevils during the first three seasons of the IPL. He was bought by the Bangalore franchise at the IPL Player Auction 2011. Vettori has been playing international cricket for over 15 years, but batsmen are still unable to read him accurately. An orthodox left-arm spinner, he can toss the ball up, bowl flat, use the crease and can even get the ball to skid after it pitches. Vettori has developed into an all-rounder and has batted well in Test cricket. However, he will be hoping to improve his Twenty20 batting numbers in IPL 2012. Vettori led the Royal Challengers Bangalore to the final of IPL 2011 and 2011 CLT20
AJINKYA RAHANE A MAN IN FINE FORM
The list Above includes the most bowling options used by RCB , have left out some players coz they aren't used frequently in the games played. These bowlers have proved worse and too good for RCB in recent times . Muttiah Muralitharan has proved his worth in 3 matches , Zak missed out INT duties and back to RCB to find Form , Vinay kumar - Sreenath Aravind- Raju Bhatkal all these 3 bolwers have been hammered away by batsman inIPL in all seasons . Their economy rates have proved so.
Never lose faith guys and when we find the right bowling options RCB will be the Undisputed champs of IPL . The right mix of bowlers in the playing eleven will see us through if a batsman of Ajinkya Rahane's class and O.Shah's tricky batting are not firing @ the other end.
Comment on what has to be done and if any changes has to be made to the bowling department as a "Fan point of view". Post ur best mix of playing 11 fans !!!
