Royal Challengers Vs Mumbai Indians - IPL7

Two in two for Royal Challengers. This new team looks set to win games in style.

It was show time for Royal Challengers again, playing at Dubai is always an experience. The facility is so new and Royal Challengers won the toss again and elected to bowl against Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians had lost their opening game against KKR and Royal Challengers with their bunch of new players wanted to make it two in two. The MI openers were lucky when Hussey and Tare were dropped by Rcb fielders during the early stage of the game, but that did not affect. Albie Morkel provided the first breakthrough for Royal Challengers and Hussey was back to the pavilion, soon Tare followed Hussey’s way. Mumbai Indians had tough time facing Rcb bowlers and the runs never came easy for Mumbai Indians and struggled. In quick time MI had lost 3 wickets for 60 runs and Rayudu was holding their innings, he was the only hope and providing some resistance. Pollard did not score much and was out for just 3 runs and more troubles for Mumbai Indians. It was Chahal on both the occasions dismissing Rohit sharma and Pollard and he was again leading the spin attack as he did in the first match against Delhi, the leg spinner had picked 2 wickets for 17 runs in his four overs without conceding a boundary in his spell. Rayudu (35) was the only set batsmen, but then this happened, a slower length ball from Starc that was hit wide of long-off, a good catch by Ab,  scratchy innings from Rayudu came to an end. Corey did not make much impact this time too and Strac had picked his second wicket and a catch to kohli. No big contributions from the lower order Mumbai managed to score 115 for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs and Rcb bowlers had done a fabulous job by restricting the Mumbai Indians for a low score. Dinda who gave away lot of runs in the first game, turned out to be the most economical bowler for RCB this game giving away 14 runs in his 4 overs and a wicket.

Yet another game without Chris Gayle. Mumbai Indians needed a dream start and their bowlers provided the same, Maddinson was cleaned by a quicker yorker from Malinga. Virat Kohli was out for duck, caught at slips in Zaheer’s bowling and another strike in the same over, Yuvraj Singh was out for a duck trapped leg before, an unexpected blow for the Royal Challengers losing two big wickets in the same over and Zaheer looked at his very best. These two wickets made way for the much cool headed Ab to step in, he along with Parthiv Patel put on a match winning partnership and made sure RCB never came under pressure again. Parthiv was at his very best, a skillful innings along with Ab. The duo put on an unbeaten 99 run partnership and made sure RCB had won two in two. Much thanks to Ab’s handy knock, the magician as always known to be, scored a patient 45* and Parthiv’s watchful innings fetched him a half century and remained unbeaten on 57. This game brought out lot of things, from 17/3 to 116/3 the chase took 17.3 overs. The batsmen had managed the pressure so well and had overcome to beat the side that was on top when the chase started. Malinga was out played by Parthiv and this is not the first time Ab had rescued RCB from a crisis situation. On the whole, the Royal Challengers had put on a over all performance. Player of the match, Parthiv Patel.
