The arriving of Sreenath Aravind - A Brief Biography
“A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work” – A quote that perhaps describes the lanky left-arm seamer Sreenath Aravind the best. The 28-year old Bengaluru boy created ripples in the Indian cricketing circuit with his wicket taking abilities in the IPL of 2011. Filling in for injured Dirk Nannes, Aravind impressed all by scalping 21 wickets from just 13 matches, playing a vital role in taking the team up to the final of the tournament that season. Much to his surprise, his skills earned him a place in the national team against England later in 2011.

Though a late bloomer, Aravind has proven his mettle with some beautiful lines and wrist action. He has even dawned the spinners hat successfully in some domestic matches for Karnataka, something that gives him the extra edge. A strong name in the domestic chapter of Indian cricket Aravind is the part of the indomitable fast bowling trio of the Karnataka team. He and his counterparts Abhimanyu Mithun and R. Vinay Kumar give the Royal Challengers that zingy local flavour. Together they are a handful for any opposition.
But for this Royal Challenger the journey was not easy. Aravind made his Ranji debut after overcoming a career-threatening accident, something that still has a bearing in his performance. After consistently performing well in the domestic circle, Aravind was signed up by Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2011.
Having grown up in Bangalore, Aravind’s father was always very strict about his studies coming before his flair for cricket. But the pacer’s love for the game was such that he would jump school gates to play a game or two. It was only during his college days that his family finally realised his potential and encouraged him to get better.
The soft spoken Sreenath Aravind has a liking for fast cars and sadly, for all the ladies out there, is already taken. Apart from cricket he loves playing carrom and loves going on long drives.
Though this year Aravind was ruled out of IPL after just one match, he has been recuperating with his injury well and trying to get back on track.
