The #BoldNewRCB Team 2014
After all of those anticipations, anxieties, curiosities of whats gonna happen in this year’s grand IPL player auction, its time when all of our questions have been finally answered.
Now we can more or less assess the kind of strategies ,the 8 teams are looking forward to execute during this season of IPL. It was an eventful and excitement filled two days at the auctions. RCB as expected retained three of the big names from the previous year’s squad i.e Virat Kohli,AB De Villiers and Chris Gayle.. so they went in with 1 right to match(RTM) card for the auctions.
The first buy for RCB later happened to be that “one big buy’ of this season’s auction. They went for a aggressive bidding to get Yuvraj Singh in the squad after agreeing to pay the biggest ever price in IPL auction history. Our skipper expressed the wish of having this world cup 2011 hero in our side and so the owner went on for an attacking bidding to grant the wish of our skipper and got him for a record fee of 14 crores. After this ‘biggest of big ‘buy we were left with just 16.50 crores in our purse with still players remaining to be bought to get a proper and strong playing 11. The rest of the first day buys for RCB included :
MA Starc, JA Morkel, VR Aaron, AB Dinda,PA Patel,NJ Maddinson.
RCB was the team going in for the day 2 auctions with the least amount in purse which obviously made them fumble a bit but they still managed to buy utility players from the uncapped list which can all together put up a great line up when combined efficiently.
In the 2nd day of the auction,RCB ‘s batting department got boosted up with Vijay Zol who is currently captaining the India U19 side in Dubai for their World Cup. Also Maharashtra’s wicket keeper batsmen Yogesh Takawale got included.
So we are all ready with our 7 destructive batsmen,11 devastating bowlers and 3 alarming all rounders to rule this IPL and ###### the winners trophy definitely this time.
