Well, these are what I've seen and been involved in even, after the momentum breaking loss against yesteryear's table toppers. While it is quite natural phenomenon that our emotions rule us immediately after the match, it makes a bit of sense for us to wait and channelize the emotions to be let out. Seen that in quite a number of forums, Utthappa was criticized.
But I stand by him. I do not mean to say that what he did was right. But he doesn't deserve such a wrath from our own folks. He is a kind of player who backs his instincts and goes after the bowling with utmost confidence. While I agree that he must be careful about choosing the deliveries to be hit, I must also tell that it is his belief in his instincts, which has made him what he is today. If he doesn't play these shots in such a fearless fashion, then he is not Utthappa. He would learn and learn soon. There are people around him to teach him folks. I'm sure he would answer to the critics against the men in yellow.
And now, the dust has settled and we have been quite hungry for a game. Five days of break and the players would certainly have refreshed themselves with their batteries recharged, minds afresh and bodies having been given enough rest.
While I would like to blame the schedule for cramped matches (although our match was advanced), I would like to give a word of appreciation to the support staff out there. Amazing job folks - to have to team fit for every match in such a cramped schedule is no mean achievement. While the rest of the teams are struggling with injuries and are losing players, we have been doing pretty well. That we went unchanged for 5 in a row speaks volumes about the effort which you guys have put in to have the players in shape for the game. Hats off to the physio, trainer and their associates.
And for people who panicked after the loss, don't! This is TEST team made of legends who have the experience of having fought through their lives and they will fight back again with stronger will to succeed and show the world that we are really really tough.
With the entry of KP, we have just got stronger. There would be no surprise if Utthappa goes for switch hits
.
So guys, sit back and enjoy the way we are gonna proceed. R-C-B..... all the way!
Cheers friends!
