Raymond Vernon Jennings (born August 9, 1954 in Vanderbijlpark) is a former South African cricketer. He was one of South Africa's leading wicket-keepers during the apartheid era.

Coaching Royal Challengers Bangalore :

Late 2008 and early 2009, saw Jennings take over as the head coach of RCB, a team in the IPL owned by the business tycoon Vijay Mallya. He was now heading a unit that saw a forgettable IPL 2008 after finishing 7th on the table among the 8 competing teams. Jennings brought the team together by making Anil Kumble the captain of the side for the second edition of the IPL  that was to start in South Africa. Under Jennings, RCBsaw success and made it to the finals of the league facing DC in 2009. This was a big turn around for the franchisee and the team who had a bad run the only previous season. The same year, RCB also qualified for the inaugural Champions League Twenty20. In 2010, the team made it till the Semi-Finals losing to MI and later finishing 3rd on the table. Jennings also has a huge fan following from the city of Bengaluru from where the RCB play from.

He made all the possibilities of winning , extracted each and every talent of a newly formed team into dramatic success in the presence of Gayle .  A trembling start @ the tournament RCB bounced back with determination  to reach the finals of the IPL 2011. These were possible becoz of a king maker Ray jennnings. @ this age he feeds his experience to the team as a WKT keeper he is a strong support for A.B.Devilliers ....

Coaching THE PROTEAS :

Ray Jennings's career as a wicket-batsman almost entirely spanned South Africa's year of isolation. For Transvaal and Northern Transvaal he was an ever-present , and he was South Africa's No. 1 for more than a decade, but limited to 14 appearances for his country against rebel touring sides. When South Africa returned to the fold he was expected to be handed the gloves, even though he was then 38, as much as a reward for his service as anything, but the selectors opted to pick Dave Richardson. Jennings, a fitness fanatic and disciplinarian, started coaching at Gauteng before moving to Easterns and from there to South Africa A. His appointment as South Africa's coach came in October 2004, surprising many as he had a reputation as speaking too bluntly for some of a more sensitive nature which has more than once landed him in hot water. He coached the Under-19 team in the 2008 World Cup in Malaysia before taking over as coach of the Bangalore Royal Challengers for the second season of the IPL. .
