Tillakaratne DIlshan set to retire from Test Cricket
SriLankan batsman and part time bowler Tillakaratne DIlshan has retired from Test Cricket and an formal announcement will soon be made on it. Tillakaratne DIlshan had a 16 years career where he was epitome of success for Sri Lankas batting in top order and he had always laid a solid foundation as an opener for the team.Even his bowling was far more useful than regular spinners in the side at Test level and his sharp fielding skills will be missed in the longer version of the game.
He had made his Test debut against Zimbabwe in the year 1999 and played his last Test series against Bangladesh in the year March 2013.
Tillakaratne DIlshan told that he wanted a younger player to get a chance and play at Test level in his place. He will continue to play in the shorter formats of the game. He was a true legend in Test cricket and will always be remembered along side other Lankan greats like Ranatunga, Aravinda De Silva, Sanath Jayasuriya.
He will continue to enjoy playing ODI and T-20 cricket.
