Unconvincing…loss for RCB
Yesterday’s match between RCB & MI was indeed a very special one for RCB & its fans, as it was their GREEN Match Day..
MI won the toss putting RCB to bat first & snatched victory over the host team.
Ebb & Flow would be a very less to say, when describing yesterday's match between RCB & MI in Bengaluru. It comprised of something, more than than. The start of the match was delayed by 45 mins due to heavy downpour, there in the garden city. The start for RCB was awfully bad. Gayle & Virat kohli’s early departure with as low as 6 and 3 runs ,respectively ..surely had terrified the RCB camp, to the fullest in the 2nd over.
Shaurabh Tiwary & AB de Villiers too..did failed to benefit the team. They were 4 for 47 after the fall of these two(S Tiwary & AB de Villiers) wickets. While these continuous falling of wickets, were upsetting the RCB supporter’s , TM Dilshan(47) was the one to carry on and stick to the pitch from the very first. He was nearing his half century ,when got restricted by R P Singh at the 17th over. This wicket was a crucial one for the guest team, to stop the flow of runs from him(Dilshan).
By this time, young gun Mayank Agarwal had already came in from the home side.‘Not much in the limelight’ Mayank Agarwal’s entry to bat was indeed a blessing for team RCB.This scintillating performance by Mayank, smashing a 30 ball 64 runs, soared the ‘lagging behind’ team RCB’s score on the boards.Mayank hit four 6’s & six 4’s to put up a decent & quite competitive score of 171 runs.

The second innings started with the two opening batsman HH Gibbs & S Tendulkar seemed quite promising at first but their unbelievable dismissal with 2 and none respectively, kept everyone to surprise and elated the RCB camp with hopes of getting those two crucial points ,defeating such a big and strong side like the MI. The condition of MI worsened even further when they started loosing wicket after wicket and went down to 5 for 55. Rohit Sharma ia always a big hope for the Mumbai side but he too failed to spread his magic and went away, giving just 5 runs.Ambati Rayudu was the one man who changed the look of MI towards betterment and batted like a magic, scoring 81 runs out of just 54 deliveries. At this phase MI were stable at 5 wickets with A Rayudu & Pollard at the crease.
MI were trying hard to repay the runs and shorten the gap between the no. of ball left and runs needed when suddenly there was suspension in the game due to stadiums power failure. But soon .the match started again with KP Apanna coming to the bowling attack. Two sixes and a single 4 in this over .M Muralidharan bowled a good over giving just 1 runs.Chris Gayle, H Patel,Z Khan followed him in the upcoming over .But the V Kumar bowled 18 th over and Z Khan bowled 19th gave MI 2 sixes and a four, and 2 fours and a single 6,respectively,which bought MI to 158-5. The C Gayle bowled last over gave MI a stupendous victory over the host team & the winning stroke was hit by K Pollard who, swinged the ball across the mid wicket, going for a boundary. The 100+ partnership between Pollard and Rayudu proved to be, the match winning partnership.
A Rayudu was handed over the Man of the Match award for the stunning 81 runs which gave MI a historic victory over RCB.
