Vinay Kumar and Wasim Jaffer Shine In Ranji 2nd Round

Stars for tomorrow are born in the rigors of domestic cricket.
And it’s the Ranji Trophy which has given India its legends. The hard work, concentration and the application of players in the empty stadiums, more to prove to themselves that they belong to this league and then can go on achieve higher things than anything else is what drives them. In the second round of Ranji matches some of our stars of RCB performed incredibly and here is a round up of the same:
Ranji Round-up
Rahul Dravid almost led Karnataka to their second consecutive victory but for the inclement weather. If God one day asks me to bet my life on a player who I think will perform in conditions which are most unsuitable to batting be it swinging conditions, spinning decks, pitches which keep low , places where bounce is tremendous, it will be RAHUL DRAVID. He shone in Delhi with a fantastic knock of 78(122) in the first innings which gave Karnataka lead on a pitch which favoured fast bowling so much that Delhi were shot out for 154 in their first innings. The main protagonist in demolishing Delhi was none other than our very own Vinay Kumar who bowled with venom and precision to pick 8 wickets in the first innings. Another star performer from RCB was Sreesanth  Well not the Sreesanth from Kerala but our very own one from RCB Sreesanth Aravind who picked his maiden 5-fer with some accurate left arm medium pace. Also Manish Pandey played with typical flair to notch up a 50(44). Elsewhere after Cyclone Phyan passed by Mumbai, their skipper Wasim Jaffer scored a fluent 165 (220) to put Mumbai in a superb position and garner a first innings lead for them. It was his 37th first class ton and message to both Indian and RCB camps that he is some form.

Robin Uthappa and Pankaj Singh were selected to represent Board Presidents XI against Sri Lanka but the match was abandoned. Also K P Appanna took a match haul of 6 wickets in C.K.Nayadu Under-22 tournament against Rajasthan with a 5-fer in the first innings.

Just a couple of highlights at the end of two rounds – First Amol Muzumdar became the highest run-getter in the history of Ranji Trophy and the second Sunny Singh from Haryana scored an amazing 312 off only 333 balls against Madhya Pradesh. Congratulations to both.
Kudos to all the star performers of RCB and we will be keeping the tabs on all the forthcoming matches. Till then ciao folks !!!
