Warm up matches and the Sandton Jazz

We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the day. The Royal Challengers won their first warm up match against the Central Stags at the HPC, Pretoria.

Winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Stags skipper, Jamie How, kept a brave face despite the fact that Ross Taylor, one of the major pillars around whom the Kiwi side rallied, was playing for our team.

How, now will be wondering ‘how’ they lost tongue wink

Like I mentioned in my previous blog, a very fitter looking Uthappa set off to a blazing start with 53 off just 23 deliveries, with some massive sixes in his kitty. Dravid opening the innings with Manish, scored a quick 38, thanks to some  lofty cover drives and pull shots. A quickfire 4 for 9 from Du Preez, wrapped up the Stags quite early into the game.

Meanwhile it was our first time in the team bus today. Apart from the whole ‘big fat RCB family’ experience, what fancied me the most was that we had a convoy.

royal challengers

Driving to the Sandton City in Jo’burg, Praveen Kumar’s folk and Bollywood music fare kept us entertained or did it?  tongue laugh While at the hotel Shopping Centre we bumped into a few rivals ( read the Mumbai Indians and Victoria Bushrangers) who were really nice to us until we mentioned that we are from the RCB camp. wink A few snide remarks came our way. Pollard was a little too amused that me coming from Mumbai was a RC fanatic.  Really looking forward to a cracker of a game against the Mumbai Indians in Durban. We’ve got some scores  to settle! But before that we’ve an exciting practice match lined up for the day. Bushrangers here we come!
