Zaheer Khan steamed in at the England batsmen like never before. His love against the left-handers continued at Lords as well.
Royal challengers Bangalore player Zaheer Khan opened the
bowling starting of with a made-in-over and there was no looking back
from there. He was just unplayable. The England batsman found it tough
to get going against him. He got the wicket of in form Cook whom he
trapped lbw for just 12 runs. Captain Strauss was the man in form and he
was building up slowly, but the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowler
Zaheer Khan came running steaming up at him and the ball hit Strauss bat
only to find it go in the hands of Sharma who took the catch and ended
up Strauss short-lived knock of 22 runs as Zaheer Khan got 2 major
wickets for India.

Unfortunately for the visitors,
Zaheer got a hamstring strain and he had to walk off in between the
match after bowling 13.3 overs. His status of injury is still a mystery
and it is not yet clear of his participation in 2nd Day or in this Test
Match. He bowled a magical spell of 13.3-8-18-2.

Play was stopped early due to rains and bad light as only 49.2overs could be bowled in the entire day as England ended the day with 127/2.
We all hope that
Zaheer is fully fit and fine and he will be able to take part in the
remaining days of the Test match as he is the key bowler for India and
his spells for India is going to be very crucial in this tour.
