Born with a lot of cricket around the neighbourhood, but played the wrong version (under arm tennis/rubber ball) early on, didn't find proper cricket in the local high school too. The college days went for studies more than playing Cricket. Yet, managed to play for 2 years in college and CA days. Followed international cricket closely since 1977-78 - India's tour to Australia to play a depleted side under Bobby Simpson in the famous Kerry Packer season. As a CA, started my working career in Bangalore and again, cricket was only on a friendly Sunday afternoon! These things were closer to me about cricket than actually playing: 1. My office was behind Chinnaswamy stadium (on Infantry Road) 2. My rented house was barely a km away from Dravid's in Indiranagar 3. Met few former and then current cricketers on a flight between Kolkata and Bangalore (including Vishy, Kirmani, Binny, Venky). In brief, work and hectic life took away all the time from playing any serious cricket - at least Club variety. But my dream of playing regular cricket brightened and accomplished when I reached Bahrain on work. Since 1997, have not missed playing the entertaining Friday (weekend) half day 20-20 cricket, despite extreme weather conditions and uncomfortable ground conditions (grounds with no grass and pitches of concrete). Memorable day was 31 December 2006 on which I captained the winning team that lifted the cup for 7-a-side tournament in extreme cold winter conditions. Apart from a banking career and a professional background (CA, CS), I find lots of happiness in writing articles on varied subjects and administer the game of cricket to the youngsters. Currently, I have been taken in as the PR Director of the Bahrain Cricket League and contribute match reports to the local press. Still actively play the weekend T20 games. Very, very pleased to be on Royal Challengers website where I think I have these 3 things in common: 1. RCB owner and I share hometown (or district) and mother tongue! 2. Dravid is all time favourite. 3. RC, KF, UB..!!
