About Me

Raghu Chaitanya Koorella (ricky4ever) ,Hyderabad

I fell in love with Cricket in the 1992 World Cup when Wasim Akram bowled those deadly yorkers to get rid of Allan Lamb and Chris Lewis off successive deliveries. I immediately bought a bat and started pestering my Dad to play cricket with me. Soon, it was 'Eat cricket, sleep cricket, drink cricket’ for me. My favourite cricket moments came in my backyard where me along with 3-4 friends used to play 20 over matches batting multiple times to make it a team of 11( using the names of International teams and players) and thus get the feel of an international match. . The Lalit Modi in me came alive during my engineering days where I as a member of the core organizing team was responsible for organizing the ‘Summer spice’ cricket series at IIIT, Hyderabad. Mid-night discussions to decide composition of the 2 teams for each series (from a pool of 50 students) , writing match reviews on a website that was updated for every match, waking up my friends for the match at 6 am in the morning were perhaps some of the most enjoyable tasks that I did in my life. Professionally, I worked as a software developer for near to 4 years before quitting the job to pursue an executive MBA from MICA ( Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad) , one of the best communication schools in the country. MCL, MICA's own version of IPL not only gave a chance for the MICA batsmen to hammer me but also provided me an opportunity to write a couple of match reports watching the matches from my room window. Over the years after several encounters on the pitch with my Dad, cousins and friends, I have come to the conclusion that 'The Pen is mightier than the bat'. (At least for me). I find this contest very interesting and I am excited to find some many cricket enthusiasts vying for the 3 positions. I cannot really wait to get blogging. Perhaps God has a reason to keep me jobless till now. I firmly believe that my 'Life is a pitch.'
