Back to a life I had forgotten about!

Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 02:58 AM

The feeling was very weird when I had to re adjust to the simple life once again! Nonetheless the time I had during the Champions League is one that i shall never forget and is definitely one of my most memorable moments.

It feels good to be back to the routine too as we were being treated like spoilt kids, what with the five star food, the amazing hospitality and to top it, the job was to enjoy a cricket match, I mean what else could anyone ask for!!

Well, actually one could ask for some free booze and some parties...but that is just being too greedy!! Only wish the RCB team would have lasted the entire tournament and today instead of cheering for T & T, I would've been cheering for RCB.

But let's not forget that we as a team did much better than the other IPL teams and it was only a matter of luck that separated us from the top teams. There is no point in blaming the format or the luch factor, fact is we are out. So what say guys now should we start planning for the IPL?

Was just chatting with Abhishek Srivastav and he was insisting we have a meet-up, people from Mumbai I mean so that for the match against MI we can go together and shock the Mumbaikars!! What say?

We need to start working from now on and infact start planning something huge!! And BTW - If you guys know of any local talent that you think can and should make it to the RCB team, do let us know. COach Ray is looking for a good spinning allrounder and a good keeper who can give us a nice 30-40 with the bat.

If you got any names, let me know, I can forward him the list and then they can take it from there. Have you guys heard or seen this bowler called Paul Valthaty? He seems good and this keeper from Mumbai - Aditya Tare - he bats decently....have recommended these....let me know what you think!!

Till then, cheers

Sid a.k.a Ragers!

Jumbo deserves a jumbo birthday celebration and Jumbo it will be!!

From my side, I shall get a flex printed for Anil Kumble wishing him a very happy birthday and I hope the team makes it a jumbo celebration by winning a big match in great style!!!

It's the birthday of our very own Mr.Consistent, the forever dependable all-rounder Jacques Kallis. We would like to wish him all the luck and an excellent year ahead.

All you guys out there who would like to wish him in your own style please do and add your stuff on the blog. We will try and get him to visit the website and check it out for himself.

Down in the bushes!

Friday, October 16, 2009 at 09:29 PM

The Victorians came out all guns blazing and unfortunately we did not have an answer for the same. We had the right start with Pandey playing a good hand, but could not continue and the youngster gave away the early advantage.

Owing to the nature of the pitch, our other batsmen also could not go on after wasting a few balls here and there, namely Kohli, Robbie and Boucher. Taylor failed for the first time and we needed someone to raise his hand and be counted. Sadly that too did not happen and Merwe and Akhil sqaundered a good chance to make a name for themselves in this tournament.

It is sad that in the last 5 overs we barely scored 25 runs even after having a few wickets in hand. To top this, our bowling and fielding too let us down and we crahed out well before the 16th over. It was a slap on the face for all RCB fans and it really hurt.

Siva, Prashant and me were thinking of - what next? We met at the gate 1 next to the team bus waiting for the team to come and it just popped in my head. I asked them - we have the car to go to the hotel, you guys wanna use it? They said - we were there with the team in their good times...we will be with them in their bad times, we wil travel in the same bus!!!

That for me was the summary of this post friends, we know the team did not do well in the last match, but we all know what they are capable of, so let's just be there for them and encourage them to perform better.

As fans our team playing at home should have been given all the support and these are the times when may be fans shouting or rooting for their team could help them pick thmselves up and fight it out.

And remember, all is not over until it's over....it was sad to see thousands of people leave the stadium by the time the 11th over had finished. The supporters seemed more or less convinced that RCB would loose. I felt bad. If we as fans think and show them that we don't think we can win, how will the team buck up and show their spirit.

Let's be with them in their bad times, coz once the good times are back, we will only have more reason to enjoy!!!

Snatch Victory from Victoria

Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 12:46 AM

Guys, our next match will be on the 15th right here in Bengaluru against the Victoria Bushrangers and we have to beat them to stay alive in the series.

So what's the plan?

Simple - meet up before the match at 5: 30 pm outside gate no. 1. So bring in the red, wear your jerseys, wave the flag and chant the slogans. Want to hear the entire stadium chant our slogan.

I will be there definitely this time and will be armed with my camera guy - our very own Chief Photographer Siva. He will be taking lots of pictures and will be making a video of the same as well as posting the pictures in the website. This whole activity will only grab more attention of the fans who are not part of it, and our endeavour will be to only add to our list.

Call me and let me know when will you come there, since I need your support, the bigger the team the bigger the noise and more will be the adrenalin rush!! Let's spread the cheer and make the rest of the fans feel like part of a bigger team!!!

Face paint, RCB flags, bandanas, team jerseys tattoo everything you can and let's bring it on there...this is our game and we will win it....come on!!!!!!!!!!

Make your move!

Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 11:06 PM

Right guys, this is what we have to do now. We have seen most of the teams and have seen how good or bad they are. Now its time to stop thinking about their strengths and weaknesses and start worrying about how are we going to beat them. We are into the next round of the Champions League and from now on only the best teams will move further. We have to decide what is it that we can do to motivate our team RCB and get them to play out of their skins.

For all those who saw me on TV, let me assure you that this time the challenge will be to grab the attention for a longer duration. I also need to apologize to you guys for not being able to come to your stands as promised since getting the access was a slight issue. Also, some of you'll got inside the stadium before I could get in touch or I could get inside the stadium so the co-ordination could not happen.

The other obstacle was getting flex and the banners inside the stadium, but such things will not happen this time and I will try and get more people to shout out our slogans.

Hopefully all will go well and our screams and shouts will be heard and will get our team glory yet again!!

Go team RCB...go Challengers!!!!!!!!!

If you ever had a doubt that kids do not make for good crazy fanatic fans...the picture below will clear all doubt.

Another kid who cheered till the last Otago wicket fell and who jumped at every boundary scored by RCB.He also gave me ample support to bring the 'thanda' P1 stand supporters to their feet. His name was Nameet.

Some more fans whom we caught right outside the stadium before the match started, as we waited for our tickets!!!

We did it!

Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 11:39 AM

Most of you'll would've seen the video made by Ray and the song chosen by him was so apt. We did make it a good night for not just the team but for all those fans who were rooting for our victory.

I got a chance to meet some fans, chat with them, shout with them from the stands and it was awesome. Trust me, I felt the vibe much more this time than in the first match. I think the support shown today was much stronger and people were more vocal today. It was a delight to be in the stands and the outcome was like the cherry on the top!

Will write lots tomorrow and in the days to come hope to have more such happy occasions. The job's not done yet, we've just reached the top 8 now and it only gets tougher. But its only means the matches get even more interesting as we move on, so keep it going guys!!!
