My fellow RCBians!

There has been a discussion between the franchisees and the IPL management about the player retention possibilities for IPL-4. I was a bit surprised to see six of the current teams opposing the player retention (Only MI and CSK supported it for the obvious reasons). It is difficult to understand why RCB wants to forgo an opportunity to retain the players like KP, Steyn, Morgan, Uthappa, Kohli (and may be Taylor and Kallis)?

May be it makes a better ‘business sense’ to buy all the players again through an auction. But what happens to the fans who associate RCB with certain set of players? I am sure many of the fans cannot even imagine Dravid, Kumble playing for another team!!

Without a provision to retain the players, we might have a new team after every three years…what are your thoughts? Are we ready for a completely new RCB for IPL 2011?

hi friends and i’m supporting rcb only because of dravid and obviously if dravid is not there why should i support RCB?i’m from chennai,until dravid is playing i’ll support his team and after that i’ll support my home team csk.RCB should support player retention and otherwise it is very difficult for fans to see their favorites in different color playing for different teams.RCB management should think of it….

I do not know what is there in Vijay Mallya’s mind. If there is no Kumble.Dravid, Uthappa,Manish n vinay nobody will support RCB

hey guys there is no need to worry about this issue because vijay mallya is a very good business man and a good cricket fan than us… he knows very well about his team and also for whom there will be huge fan base and he knows very well that only for dravid and kumble there is fan base and if they are gone then RCB is gone….

there is a heavy debate weather player retention must be there or not!!! however even without it i think RC will buy back people like KUmble(if willing to play),Dravid,Uthappa,manish!! these guys r the back bone of banglore!! no other team would wanna sacrifice their big shots n try for other city big guns!! so yeah player retention not a big concern!!

Player retaining is there are not…DRAVID will surely play only for RCB….....thats 10000000000000000000000% sure….......not even in my wildest dream he will leave b’lore….so dont worry dravidians:):):)

If there is option of retaining some players I would love to see Dravid,Uthappa,Kumble,Kevin & Steyn playing for RCB in the next three seasons as well.Especially our Mr. Dependable Rahul Sharad Dravid.He has performed consistently in all three seasons with a good strike rate.It was an absolute rubbish decision to send him down the order at no. 7.He must bat in top 4 so that he can guide the inning & accelerate as well.Against KKR in IPL 3 when he batted at no. 3 he scored 52(35) & against DC 49(33).His highest score in IPL is 75*(36) against RR in IPL 1(Winning team in that season).In first edition it was him only who was playing well.In first season he scored 371 runs at a strike rate of 124 & average of 28.53.
It was not only his fault that team did not do well.Who can forget the inning of 66(48) in RCB’s first match against RR in IPL 2 when all batsmen surrendered only our WALL stood tall.Also the inning of 44 against CSK in semi finals of IPL 2 in which he & Manish won the match for us & took us to finals.
Beside staying in Kolkata I’ve always supported RCB only because of Jammy.He is a true match winner & a fighter.If he is not playing for RCB,I’ll never ever support RCB.Hopefully Dr. Mallya & team management will take the right decision & they will retain Rahul if the option is provided by IPL governing council.I would love to see RCB winning ACL T20 2010 & Dravid playing a major role in that.

@least captains should be allowed to play for their respective teams..
