Anil Kumble withdraws from the IPL4 auction.So this by all means goes to say that his last appearance on the field as an active cricketer was the semi-final of the Champions League last year,against the Chennai Super Kings.Its difficult to see him make himself available for auction in the future,considering his age.RCB will have to look for a new skipper,a wicket-taking spinner to rely upon in crunch,more importantly an inspirational figure like Kumble in the dressing room.Without any doubt,he galvanised the team since he took over the reins from Pietersen midway through IPL2.
All said and done,its time to celebrate the careers of one of the greatest cricketers India has known.One thing that we will never forget about him is the sort of commitment and zeal he used to show on the field.But its also time for him to set a system in place for Karnataka cricket as the president of KSCA,and also to make sure as the Chairman of NCA,that the academy makes its existence felt.We wish him the best in all his future endeavours.
