Every time he walks out to bat, I wish I could play the forward defensive like he does. The best gift anyone could ever give me is to have this man teach me how to play the ‘perfect forward defensive’
Hey there this is a latest entry into RCB Fan and also into Fan Forum..So thot of starting by checking out post on Rahul..Watever shots he plays…He plays it with finesse
Pull shots were one of my favorites too.. He’s stopped playing that.. At least not often does he play the pull shot.. Nothing beats the Forward defensive though!
Every shot he plays is right from the coach’s manual!!
In today’s changing cricket world which seems full of un orthodox strokes, innovations and improvisations. Dravid stands out like a glittering precious metal, playing the shorts of the yester years in a debonair fashion. Looks so simple and cool!!
It is a treat to the eyes that watch him play.2 per individual is no where enough to see his willow do the talking.
Any stroke that he plays is always orthodox and elegant. But my favorite shot of the wall is his square cut. He can pierce the region even if all 9 fielders are stationed there!!
It’s now my dream to learn playing the forward defensive shot from Rahul Dravid.. Been watching him since childhood, practiced every single shot he’s played, the only shot i haven’t perfected is the leg glance, the forward defensive (almost there) and the square cut.. If not for him, test cricket would seem like a modern day T20 game..!
its surely the pull , he is one of the best pullers of the ball , probably better than ponting , i love the pull he plays , he manages to keep the ball on the ground , and rarely mistimes a pull , B-)
rahul’s best shot is undoubtedly the on- drive nobody plays it as well as he does. solid defence is also one of the special feature of rahul’s batting even sachin is a big fan of rahul’s defence
rahul’s best shot is the cover drive, the square cut he does and flick on his pads is truely priviledged to watch…........................ rahul’s timing of the ball is tremendous and his solid defence which resembles right triangle hypotenuse makes him special.hes been the back bone of indian cricket and he remains it…...........“the wall” was missed by every indian in the recently test match between india and south africa….................
I like watching him play his trademark shot cover drive… now a days i don’t watch him playing it frequently but still i love him playing that shot!. And then the square cut.. superb bat speed, upper hand power, perfect position and stylish foot steps. Then the leg lance.. its the shot! he is best known for and every time he plays it, it seems that he is applying no power, just flicking off the leg side with great timing and the ball is off to the boundry.
