Need to work out a formula to bring in a right arm spinner into the team as Mithun the only genuine right arm bowler has not helped the cause. As Daniel has rightly pointed out that RCB has a single dimensional attack with three main bowlers being left arm bowlers lacks variety. Only exception being Chris who is doing well in patches with his right arm off break bowling. How about finding means of getting in Jonathan (if he is a right arm bowler) known as a leg-break bowler i assume he is right arm bowler. He could be a good option to lend variety.
IN the last match both all three Zaheer, Aravind and Daniel were very expensive in the death overs. Had any one of them restricted to about 8 runs from their last over then it would certainly been a different ball game. It is not that chennai won the game we offered it to them on a silver salver. Just denying one sixer would have done the trick. Bowling low full toss might be a good strategy i suppose not in the death overs in a T20 game. Wisdom was desired at that situation.
However all said and done it is easy for us to comment in a postmortem situation, but the players would have been thinking different there in the middle, yet it was panic taking over the bowlers. I feel Daniel should have bowled the crucial 19th over and bowled Aravind in the 20th. If the runs given was about 10 or 11 in the 19th then the situation would have been different.
Besides i feel Playing Gauthan in place of Kaif would give more options. AB will be available in the out field and lend teeth to the fielding option.
Pomersbach was doing well, had he continued for another couple of overs we would have set a target of about 190 or more which would have been impossible for CSK to manage. They would have panicked.
Let the best thinking and planning prevail for the next two matches.
I have a gut feeling that if we meet CSK in the finals (of course beat MI in the virtual Semis first) we will pravail and win the championship for sure.
