INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE 2011 : My Analysis of New and Improved RCB Throughout the tournament :
RCB 2008 - 7th spot , 2009 - Runners up , 2010 - 3rd spot , 2011 - Runners up .....
The never Ending Saga Of the RED BRIGADE !!!
Retaining a Future ! Auctioning Varieties ! A new Team of its class !
The Journey STARTED ON Saturday April 9 , 4:00 pm .......
The Chief Destructor : CHRIS HENRY GAYLE - Im proud to say it ,but Gayle was the Recovery that RCB was searching for , on show with 608 runs at 67.55 and with a H.S of 107 and a S.R of astonishing 183.13
56 timed and 44 Outta the park !!
Performance of the tournament: Virat Kohli - Being the Only Player retained this season Virat had a point to prove . As the Doctor ordered the Indian flogged a beleaguered Deccan chargers with a 51 balll 71 ... Retaining his avg of 46.41… Providing Support to C.H.GAYLE , he proved he was worth retaining, Provided a splendid show throughout the tournament !!!
Game of the tournament :
RCB VS CSK PLAY OFFS -1 ————-> As the tournament progressed , The battle of Titans was set in Wankhade stadium , Losing GAYLE at early stages RCB trembled at 30/1 , loosing wickets @ regular intervals , VIRAT proved his part once again when it was most needed .... M.agarwal and LA Pomersbach Played a cameo ... Wich ended up @ 175 / 4 at 20. CSK Suffered early blows at Hussey (3/1) and Vijay (7/2) facing the pavillion .... Proving with the ball GAYLE added only 19 off his 4 ovrs ... The match which was nearly over RCB Nearing victory… All where on the edge of their seats .. BANG !! BANG !!! BANG !! 32 Off 10 balls from ALBIE AND RAINA shocked the RCB fans [ ME :( ]... Afterall its a T20 !!! Revenge for victory won RCB the next Play offs against the strong Mumbai indians !!!
Disappointment of the tournament: S.TIWARY - Lots where expected from this finisher from the MI previous season , for the fans dissapointment , He dint show up even in a single match !! An awful 106 runs off 8 matches ( 42* in the finals )... Played a test match in the finals against CSK without any effort !!!
Surprise of the tournament: Sreenath Aravind - 21 wickets at 17.52 meant that RCB’s newcomer was the third highest tournament wicket taker.Who’d have thought that before play started?Despite this, Aravind received a lot of unfair criticism in Bengaluru. As pretty well all of his teammates ground to a halt, Aravind remained unflustered and at ease with his game. Why the criticism? He bowled some loose balls .Apparently his tournament economy was 8.00 p/o.Compared to the top 2 wicket takers MALINGA (5.95 RPO) , MUNAF PATEL (6.95 RPO) And bear in mind most of the time he was the Frontline Remover of the top order !!!
THE TEAM WAS CRITISISED BY THEIR OWN FANS AFTER 3 CONSECUTIVE LOSSES @ THE START OF THE TOURNAMENT ABOUT THE PLAYER AUCTIONS !! UNTIL ONE MAN CHANGED THE FORMAT INTO A T10 , C.H.GAYLE, CRUSHING EACH AND EVERY TEAM HE FACED IN HIS WAY !!!! THE 2 TIME FINALISTS MOVE TOWARDS THE JOURNEY OF THE CLT20 THIS SEPTEMBER, HOPING TO TAKE REVENGE OF THE DEFENDING CHAMPIONS CSK !!!!:)
