Well we shuffled around a lot with our players in this edition and it was all well and good as it came off and we finished second..however I think we shouldn’t ignore some of the loopholes in our foreign selections..see after all we only get 4 foreign players to play..and those 4 players this time around were Dilshan AB Daniel and Nannes..until Gayle force arrived..blessing in disguise it turned out to be as he replaced the injured Nannes and turned the tables around for us..we tried Van der Wath and Langaveldt but both are aging cricketers I believe so probably wrong buys..Rossouw and Vandiar were wasted without getting a single game and are probably as talented as Pomersbach..this is the area we need to rectify making the most of not only a few but all are selected foreign players..I think we missed a trick or two when we gave up Ross Taylor Kevin Ryder Morgan Kallis Steyn all in a rush..not to mention Van der Merve and Du preez..especially when most of them were young up-coming cricketers..except for say Kallis and Kevin..we had also lost Manish and Robin Uthappa hence changing the entire complexion of the side..without being too harsh on our captain I think we should have retained Ross for him as he shared a brilliant camaraderie with us and almost played the part Gayle is doing now for us..we covered the loss of Steyn by getting back Zaheer but then lost Praveen Kumar..I think there lies the loophole in the bowling..Praveen led a lot of banlance to the side..would have been ideal to have him alongside Zak..we lost a trick or two with our foreign players combination hence struggled throughout the tournament with our team balance..see foreign players have to fit in well with our Indian cricketers to form a balanced combination but that didn’t happen this season as we struggled for balance in the bowling department..and even in the batting to a great extent if not for Gayle..players like Pujara and Tiwary didn’t suit the purpose at all..ideally a guy like Pujara should be batting at no.3 but with Kohli in the team that didn’t happen so we wasted him down the order..let’s get our combination right guys!

So for the next edition I think we should look at the balance of the side before deciding on any foreign players or even Indian players for that matter..u might have a Dilshan and a Nannes and a Daniel but if we are struggling with our combinations then what’s the point??And please get back Ross!And look at players who are young and fitter..like say a Ryan Ten Doeshchate for KKR..or a Southee for CSK..we need to give up a few of our foreign buys and look to get specialist foreingn players for specific roles..Morgan should have stayed to fill in the middle-order loophole but just when he was settling in with us we let him go!I don’t want to take fresh names since we had it all in our ranks till the last season itself!Look at what we lost and aim at getting them back!CHEERS RCB!!:))

Great post dude.I think it’s impossible to get Ross but we could get van der Merwe for van der Wath and someone spinner as Delhi wont accept the trade because they lack in spinners and du Preez from signning him.We could have got Ryder,Morgan and Boucher easily

Speaking of Ryder he sparkled for Pune warriors in patches so we could have made us of him too..though he didn’t do too well for us. Morgan for sure upcoming international talent!Beautiful player to watch..

Praveen lent* a lot of balance* to the side,especially the bowling

missed a trick or two* and yes we have none other than AB in our middle-order but can one player do it all??we need more stability in the middle order..with the existing team though my ideal line up would be like this in spcific batting order- Gayle Dilshan Pujara AB Kohli Tiwary Kaif Daniel Zaheer Mithun Aravind..we don’t need Syed Mohammad as an extra bowler coz we already have two spinning all-rounders that is Gayle and Dilshan!Or if u want an extra bowling option then opt for someone who can smash it like Asad Pathan or Abrar Qazi insted of Kaif who is a genuine all-rounder I believe..state player and U-22 captain..played with him at school level and I can proudly say that I got him out once!!:))

Abrar Qazi who is a genuine all-rounder I believe instead of Kaif* U-17 school level..Cottonian shield inter-school Bangalore tournament back in 2005:))Mayank also played in that tournament for the host school Bishop Cottons’..used to keep wickets for them and open the batting ocassionally..we were gone a right belting from them in one of our league matches..they managed to score 270 in 30 overs!!Abrar played for Clarence high school..)Cottons were the winners quite obviously..

We could give van der Wath and Ryan Ninnan to Delhi Daredevils to get van der Merwe and sign Adithya B Sagar as a replacement to van der Wath as a fast bowler.Only old possible players to be signed are Boucher and du Preez who are known to many.

ya saw if we have Van der Merve coming back does he get to play in the final 11??where would be the space unline in the first 3 seasons where Anil bhai was making very good combinations for the team..and we have all big guns like gayle dilshan AB Vettori then whom to drop??That’s exactly what I am talking abt..and our captain is a better bet than Van der Merve of course..so there’s no room for him I guess..unless u want to rest him or something..

and what’s the status of Dirk Nannes??We badly need him back and if he is then whom does he replace in the 11??Dilshan or Gayle or AB or Daniel??LOL!!

We can get him in our team.He is an energetic player.He could be given chances if someone like Daniel Vettori takes a break after making a few wins.I know it’s difficult to get him in the playing 11 but atleast confirming him in the team is a big plus point.

Its a good analysis and good post but i dont think we can get any players back till the next auction takes place.

Van der Wath had only 1 chance in wich entire team bowling was massacred by gilli n marsh.

Langevedlt was economical in 1st spell of all his matchs but scrwed up in final spells..!
These 2 are very good players..Van der wath is a T20 specialist..!!

Even ZAK is big failure for RCB in this season..:(
