CM Gautam being selected for the Emerging players tournament from September 1 is the only wicket-keeper whose selected for India.This is a great opportunity for this talented guy who wants to break into the RCB side and then the national side.
When RCB signed him,he was glad and admitted that he’s hapy to be back in his home town after his good performances in domestic matches led to his selection.
I still remember when I saw this guy first time on TV,the final between Mumbai and Karnataka(Actually I thought him to be Devraj Patil),he took someone’s great catch.Actually he was moving left side but picked his right hand and gave a great catch.Afterwards I saw him play a lot for Karnataka.
CM Gautam has improved a lot in his batting from last year and has began to score fastly. A very dreadful day for Karnataka against Orissa in the Ranji Trophy plate league where Orissa batted first and got 191 on the board.At reply Karnataka big guns Uthappa,Pawan,Verma,Ganesh Satish,all of their willows kept quiet and left Karnataka struggling for a score of 54/5.
But a huge miracle took place.It was Pandey -Gautam stand which rescued Karnataka from a big loss.Both of them shared a 328 run partnership in which Manish scored 171(267) which included 16 boundaries and six maximums and Gautam 158(234) with 23 boundaries and 1 maximum.
Karnataka from 54/5 managed 503 in which there were further contributions of RCBians Mithun and Aravind for the eleventh wicket partnership.Both added 84 for the eleventh wicket partnership in which Mithun scored a brisk 63(89) 7 fours and 1 six and Aravind 33(53) 2 fours and one six.
Karnataka won the match by an innings and 33 runs.
Thanks to debutant Adithya B Sagar who got important wickets in the beginning in both the innings but was unfortunately not picked for the RCB side.
In short I want to say that CM Gautam deserves a chance and I say that he’ll never let you down.
