I have just found out that since Gayle was bought as a replacement for an injured Nannes, he has to be auctioned again. However RCB will be the first to bid for him at any price. They can retain him at even the base price of $400,000 but the twist is that he has to agree to stay with RCB which is very likely at this moment.
