If it wasnt for gayle yesterday night , we would’ve struggled to reach even 100 runs , the major thing that I discovered is apart from top 3 ! No other batsman has had a taste of international cricket ! God forbid Gayle is out early then we have the likes of virat and devilliers ! Christian doesnt instill any confidence that he can strike big and playing either barnwell or moises would be a better option ! Our bowling looks okay but batting has a severe hole and only Gayle’s runs can fill it .. also arun karthik outof all Indian batsman looked comfortable and he can be persisted and karun must be replaced
by sheldon jackson or eitherpujara when he returns

I think that Christian and Karun Nair deserve another chance…Moises would be a good option too, but we could give Christian another chance and see what comes of it..

It was a pathetic batting performance.  Christian’s shot was like club cricket, he didnt know where the fielder was and bangalore is a small ground, he should have cleared easily.

We made Bumrah (whatever his name is , not sure) a hero by everyone playing him across and getting out.  Players should realize that they need to bat for 20 overs and not one over and be a hero.. this has been RCB’s problem every year.  No temparment to survive for 20 overs including Virat and Dilshan for many matches.

I was disappointed that Virat didn’t send the message clearly during the post match conversation. Agreed that we are happy with the win.. but didnt we let it go off during the initial batting and by Christian by continuously bowling short and length deliveries.

Ya I feel that Gayle is overdepended a bit.Until AB comes, there might be a bit of problems.

For heaven’s sake replace Dilshan with Vettori or McDonald and open Gayle with Karun Nair.
If Saurabh Tiwary can get a lot of chances, then why not Karun Nair???We should even think of playing Barnwell or Henriques for Christian.

Actually dilshan is the main worry .. he comes in plays a stupid shot and leaves ! The difference is we need to get good starts , set up a platform for guys coming in so that we score 175+ in chinnaswamy if it doeant seam or swing then totals like 200 are unsafe .. we have actually forgotten abhinav mukundvand sunny sohal who can open ! And instead of an international who throws his wicket , why not give youngsters a chance ? Play an allrounder instead of dilshan and open with sunny sohal , it might work and even if it doesnt thats fine !
We can afford to experiment in the next game against SRH as they aren’t as strong as MI ! IT’LL be very interesting to see how kohli manages to bring out the best among players
.

Agree. Dilshan is not a consistent player and can be replaced by Pujara once he is back.If AB is available for the next match then it makes sense to replace Dilshan with Sohal at the top. However if AB is not available for the next match then we can persist with him for another match.

Replace Dilshan with Henriques, and Christian with Rampaul/Barnwell. Once AB and Pujara are back, the foreign players should be - Gayle, AB, Henriques/Barnwell, Murali/Rampaul.

yes fellas RCB is too much dependent on Gayle…  we need our local players to back the batting order… Mayank Agarwal we all know his capabilities but he is not at all play with patience… he definitely need to work on that… AB’s arrival would be a huge + for us… Kohli showed that he’s in good touch in the last game… Ravi Ram Paul has the duty to bowl as it is being done by our Ex- RCBian Dale Steyn… Lets hope for the best fellas… just a couple of hours left to roar our Royal chant Arrrrrrrrrrrrr Ceeeeeeeeeeeee Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee….................................!!!!!!!

And yes with only one match we cannot come to the conclusion that who should sit back & who should be in the playing 11…

Yesterday loss to SRH has again underlined the over reliance of RCB on Gayle. As rightly mentioned by Navjot Sidhu , RCB looks pale and stale when Gayle doesnt perform. Like all previous seasons the Indian batsmen barring Kohli has let down the team again. Agarwal and Karun Nair have been pathetic. The non performance of Indian batsman is the single reason for RCB not winning the title in the previous season and surprisingly the team management has not done anything about it yet. Also Dilshan does not seem to be in any form what so ever and needs to be replaced by AB in the next match. Despite of the loss yesterday there are some positives for RCB from yesterdays match.
1) Moises Henriques made a great impact with his bowling and batting and should be persisted with in all matches.
2) The fielding was outstanding
3) The captaincy if Virat Kohli was impressive and he can only get better.
