After yesterday night’s match, it was interesting (actually disappointing being an RCB fan) to see the similarities in the game and the glaring differences between CSK and RCB’s approach to run chasing.
On Sunday night, against RCB, DC lost 3 quick wickets and managed to reach 150. In reply RCB lost the 1st wicket quickly and then slowed down until a point where the mid / tail enders were under so much pressure that they were bound to crack.
Yesterday night, against CSK, KKR also lost 3 or 4 quick wickets and managed to reach 150. In reply, CSK lost a quick wicket and that too of Hayden. But what a determined and strong response from the top order gave. HIGHEST score in IPL within 6 overs and wrapping up the game with plenty of fuel left.
What a difference in approach - speaks of the mental strength of the team. Rest of IPL does not look good for RCB, but will still hope for semis.
The game is in the mind.
