ITS HAS BEEN A CAMPAIGN OF UPS AND DOWN. We played some good cricket. We started off well and somehow couldnt manage to keep momentum in the second half of the tournament. We have been poor traveller’s this season. RCB is a great team. Its a case of misfortune and bad luck.

Key reasons for RCB not featuring in the playoffs

1. Last ball no ball by Rp Singh
2. Virat Kohli dropping David Miller
3. Not reading the pitch making blunder in team selection going with Abhimanyu Mithun on slowpitch against KKR
4. Virat Kohli being arrogant to some extent with his captaincy but he is a great player and time will make him more experienced to handle situation.
5. Lack of quality t20 allrounders and Bowlers.
6. Missing Zaheer Khan due to injury as his experience could have been handy.
7. RCB MANAGEMENT MAKING MISTAKES BY NOT ADDING QUALITY T20 ALL ROUNDERS.

Overall RCB IS THE MOST ENTERTAINING TEAM IPL HAS EVER HAD.

RCB APPROACH IN 2014

Players to be retained

1. Virat Kohli
2. Chris Gayle
3. Ab Develliers
4. Vinay Kumar

Players Which can be bought back as they did well this season.

1. Zaheer Khan depending on his Fitness
2. Ravi Rampaul
3. Moises Henriques
4. Jaydev Unadkat
5. Mayank Agarwal
6. Syed Mohd

Allrounders

I suggest that we can go for 2 indian i.e one batting allrounder and bowling allrounder

According to me Yousuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan fits the bill. Even Karn Sharma / Stuart Binny.

We need one overseas quality allrounder

Depending on availability

1. Darren Sammy
2. Thisara Perera
3. Shahid afridi
4. Mohd Hafeez
5. Kevon Cooper

Bowlers

We suffered a lot in this dept as we lacked quality fast bowler

Depending on availability we need one quality fast bowler from the lot.

1. Peter siddle
2. Mitchel Starc
3. James Pattison
4. James Faulkner
5. Umar Gul
6. Junaid Khan
7. Mohd Irfan
8. Dale Steyn
9. Mitchel Johnson
10. Malinga

Indian Bowlers

Depending on availability
1. Ishant Sharma
2. Praveen Kumar

Spin Bowlers depending on availability

1. Amit Mishra
2. Pragyan ojha
3. Piyush Chawla

Karnataka Players

1.Robin Uthappa
2. Manish Pandey
3. Stuart Binny

My Ideal RCB 2014 TEAM

1. Mayank Agarwal / Manish pandey / Robin Uthappa
2. Chris Gayle
3. Virat Kohli
4. Yousuf Pathan
5. Ab Develliers
6. Any Overseas allrounder ie Darren Sammy / Thisara Perera /Shahid afridi / Mohd Hafeez / Kevon Cooper
7. Karn Sharma /  Stuart Binny / Syed Mohd any spin bowlers depending on pitches.
8. Irfan Pathan
9. Vinay Kumar
10. Zaheer Khan
11. Any overseas fast bowler

I think it will be the most balanced team and will be favorites as it covers all departments

I hope RCB MANAGEMENT MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS

Agreed with all above points.

But in next auction, even few impactful domestic players will be auctioned to avoid problems which took place between two franchises on signing of one player.A fresh instance is Manish Pandey.

Very very difficult to get quality Indian players.

We have to step up wisely and extract talent from all the available corners rather than depending on heavyweights, what we have been doing since last three years.

I would love to see Vinay and Unadkat remaining in the team.Mithun might go or remain.
We should make KL Rahul as our permanent wicketkeeper next time.He might become more experienced and matured after the upcoming domestic season.

And please forget everything that happened in three years, let’s start a fresher one. Please go heavily on Manish Pandey,as he is a local boy and can play a match winning innings on his day.He could have easily done better than Tiwary in the seasons.

That’s a perfect analyze!but we r still not confirmed with any retention or auction rules so I think it’s a bit too early to discuss upon all this!

My ideal team
1. Mayank Agarwal / Manish pandey /if possible Robin Uthappa
2. Chris Gayle(retain)
3. Virat Kohli(retain)
4. Any Overseas allrounder ie D. Sammy / T. Perera /S. Afridi / K. Cooper / J. Franklin / Moises Henriques
5. Ab Develliers(retain)
6. Any Overseas allrounder ie D. Sammy / T. Perera /S. Afridi / K. Cooper / J. Franklin / Moises Henriques
7. Stuart Binny
8. Karn Sharma
9. Vinay Kumar
10.Ishwar Pandey - (Young indian fast bowler who is tall and can generate good bounce from good length. Having that sort of bounce is quite necessary in bangalore as it is batting friendly but has good bounce.)
11. Any expirience overseas fast bowler (preferably Alfonso Thomas who is very good and consistent. Might be cheaper as well.)
