I would suggest to put both Chris Gayle & Kohli down the order a bit and open with AB. I would retain Rana who showed some temperament as batsman. Also we need to bring back Aaron (captain should give him confidence on the field & coach off the field). We can go with extra spinner in place of batsman. So I will drop Vijay Zol (We should have groomed him in the early part of tournament and not now - maybe as opener) RCB anyhow looks weaker batting after 6. RCB Batting can win only with Top 5. Let’s strengthen the bowling (the trend in T20 format especially in sub-continent has been “spin bowling”). So lets bring back a seasoned bowler like Jakati who did well for CSK. And let’s definitely retain Muralidharan.
The team can be:
One can wonder about just 2 seam bowlers and what about death bowling! I think we tried hell lot of fast bowlers (and even Starc) proved to be ineffective in death bowling! We actually don’t have those specialist bowlers in our line up at all! So I would rather go with Chris Gayle & give him the responsibility to share death bowling with Starc. That is the best we can do (even if he goes for 10 rpo, he may ###### couple of wickets as well, and spinners is the trend as I said) We have seen Gayle effective slightly with death bowling in the past (West Indies team). We can try this at least for one match or one over as anyhow our other bowlers are getting belted & we lost at least 2 matches due to this already, so no harm in risking one more ) Also it can bring back confidence in Gayle (on a positive note, if the ploy clicks) as he is struggling in other two departments (bowling & fielding).
I hope RCB management will read this
