Hits and misses as the name suggests…lets get started with Dravid’s best and not-so good performances in the IPL & CLT20

A Great Fan could also be a rightful Critic, I believe hence ‘the misses’ too smile

I’ll start with it-

Hits-  His match winning 66 of 48 deliveries against the Rajasthan Royals at Centurion (IPL 2)

Misses- When he dropped a sitter at the slip (Symonds at 5) in the IPL 2 final against Deccan Chargers, I was really disappointed.

I feel strongly that IPL, and RCB have not yet seen the best of Dravid.  Or at least the good standards he sets for himself.  I feel there is more to come.

But if i have to chose one, I’d go with Disha and say that was his best knock.
His worst i feel was in the first match of IPL-1 against the KKR where Dravid, the captain and the batsman looked lost.

His hits were the two innings he played against RR, one in IPL I at Jaipur and the one on the opening day of IPL II. Though, we lost the game at Jaipur, it was one of the best IPL II knocks, we’ve witnessed in the short history of the league.

Misses will include the final of IPL II, where he dropped Symonds at a crucial stage of the game and then played a very unlike Dravid shot to get out cheaply, while chasing in such a big game.

I wonder why only CLT20 and IPL, anyways will stick to the topic..
Hits: Ofcourse the first game against RR when they were 4 wickets down. That was some innings to watch

@ Kunal-
I deliberately narrowed it down to IPL & CLT20 because in his entire career he has had too many ‘hits’ to pen down.  smile

HITS: ammm… As everyone posted 66 off 48 deleveries against RR in 1st match of IPL2 as Dravid’s best knock, I would like to go with another one… The 2nd match of IPL2 against CSKs where RCB was chasing to win but unfortunately lost. In that match dravid got out on a quickly made 48.. It was a real fighting knock and one of his best hits too. Till he was at the crease, I never lost the hope and CSK’s hearts were uncertain too… That innings of his proved it completely that a so called test specialist can play a T20 game as a T20 specialist and the best thing was that, throughout the innings, he maintained the same aggression but never lost his style.

MISSES: For misses… I completely agree with Disha that the dropped chance off symonds when he was at 5 in the IPL2 finals against DCs was really a BIG! miss… after he got that chance, he went on to make a quick 20+ or 30+ runs which brought allot of difference in the match..
And then I partially agree with poshin that in the first IPL match, where dravid was leading RCB really looked lost as a captain but not as a batsman at all… He opeaned the innings, played the 1st ball perfectly and the ball on which he got out was also attempted as a confident shot.
