RRRCCCBB RRRCCCBBB RRRCCCBBB!!! Can you hear this??? Or is it just my mind ignoring to think anything beyond the match tomorrow. And why not??? RCB is on a roller coaster ride with a hat-trick of wins already and tomorrow’s win will get us closer to the playoffs. (Super excited ;))
Can’t wait to see the Men in Red....Errrr…Men in Green to take the field tomorrow. Yes, The Green Match of the season is HERE!!!
We won the last Green Match with around 6.5 overs still left. I am sure there is magic in Green. If you don’t believe me then tell me how many runs can be scored in an over? I guess most of the replies will be 36 and Ravi Shastri, Yuvraj Singh and Herschelle Gibbs will also attest to that. But, when Gayle last wore Green he scored 37 runs from an over. I hope no one can ever forget what Gayle magic did in the last Green Match. 44 runs of just 16 balls with 5 towering sixes……wow and now with the majestic form he is in it won’t be amusing to see the bowlers shiver at the prospect of having to bowl to him.
RCB will be donning the super cool Green Jerseys in the match v/s Mumbai Indians tomorrow. Green Match is a symbol of RCB’s strong commitment towards environmental awareness. RCB strongly believes sports can provide a unique platform with vast reach for spreading the message on environment & conservation.
This match will see a special live auction of the Green Jersey where the spectators will get a chance to own the limited edition Green Jersey signed by RCB Team. Its proceeds will be used for a green cause. This auction will be held live on the 14th of May 2012 between 03:45 to 05:30pm and bids will be accepted through SMS, Bluetooth and physical submissions (facility made available at select stands only).
Another major highlight of the match will be the release of the certificate issued by DNV (Det Norske Veritas), declaring RCB officially carbon neutral. RCB, unlike other sports teams in the world which are Carbon Neutral, did not purchase carbon credits but achieved its Neutrality through fan driven initiatives.
RCB’s green philosophy of think green and act green has made the team one of the most loved cricket teams in the world with a large, diverse and global fan following which understands the impact RCB has created through its green initiatives.
RCB’s green initiatives are truly of the fans, for the fans and by the fans with more than 100,000 fans contributing to it. It would have taken a lot of time for RCB to get carbon neutral if the spirit & support of RCB’s fans was not there. This Green Match is played as a token of acknowledgement and appreciation of the green efforts by the RCB Fans. I LOVE RCB !!!
So let’s paint the town GREEN tomorrow. :)
See you tomorrow at the stadium….RRRCCCBBB RRRCCCBBB RRRCCCBBB RRRCCCBBB……The decibels are getting higher….I am sure by now you can hear it too :)
