Bus Day is celebrated on 4th of every month. The Bus day was started by Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) on 4th February, 2010. The idea is to take the Bus on that day and see the difference it will make to traffic congestion and air quality. Vehicle speeds and emissions will be monitored on the corridors to quantify the difference in order to further encourage people to travel by public transport. The campaign is meant to create awareness interactively through an electronic survey and by just taking the Bus! With public and Government support it has succeeded to a great extent improving the mobility and quality of air and thereby quality of life itself in our megacity.
