RRRCCCBB RRRCCCBBB RRRCCCBBB!!! Can you hear this??? Or is it just my mind ignoring to think anything beyond the match tomorrow. And why not??? RCB is on a roller coaster ride with a hat-trick of wins already and tomorrow’s win will get us closer to the playoffs. (Super excited ;))
Can’t wait to see the Men in Red....Errrr…Men in Green to take the field tomorrow. Yes, The Green Match of the season is HERE!!!

We won the last Green Match with around 6.5 overs still left. I am sure there is magic in Green. If you don’t believe me then tell me how many runs can be scored in an over? I guess most of the replies will be 36 and Ravi Shastri, Yuvraj Singh and Herschelle Gibbs will also attest to that. But, when Gayle last wore Green he scored 37 runs from an over. I hope no one can ever forget what Gayle magic did in the last Green Match. 44 runs of just 16 balls with 5 towering sixes……wow and now with the majestic form he is in it won’t be amusing to see the bowlers shiver at the prospect of having to bowl to him.

RCB will be donning the super cool Green Jerseys in the match v/s Mumbai Indians tomorrow. Green Match is a symbol of RCB’s strong commitment towards environmental awareness. RCB strongly believes sports can provide a unique platform with vast reach for spreading the message on environment & conservation.
This match will see a special live auction of the Green Jersey where the spectators will get a chance to own the limited edition Green Jersey signed by RCB Team. Its proceeds will be used for a green cause. This auction will be held live on the 14th of May 2012 between 03:45 to 05:30pm and bids will be accepted through SMS, Bluetooth and physical submissions (facility made available at select stands only).
Another major highlight of the match will be the release of the certificate issued by DNV (Det Norske Veritas), declaring RCB officially carbon neutral. RCB, unlike other sports teams in the world which are Carbon Neutral, did not purchase carbon credits but achieved its Neutrality through fan driven initiatives.
RCB’s green philosophy of think green and act green has made the team one of the most loved cricket teams in the world with a large, diverse and global fan following which understands the impact RCB has created through its green initiatives.
RCB’s green initiatives are truly of the fans, for the fans and by the fans with more than 100,000 fans contributing to it. It would have taken a lot of time for RCB to get carbon neutral if the spirit & support of RCB’s fans was not there. This Green Match is played as a token of acknowledgement and appreciation of the green efforts by the RCB Fans. I LOVE RCB !!!
So let’s paint the town GREEN tomorrow. :)
See you tomorrow at the stadium….RRRCCCBBB RRRCCCBBB RRRCCCBBB RRRCCCBBB……The decibels are getting higher….I am sure by now you can hear it too :)

Bus travel is a lot of fun and is very convenient too. If you commute in a bus in a group it is a nothing but a joy ride to a picnic. Places like the NICE road, the airport road, Whitefield that have great roads and no traffic are a lot of comfort to take a bus ride on. The bus is not only a lot of fun but also very economical, it saves a lot of fuel and reduces traffic congestion. Keeping this in mind RCB had launched the ‘I traveled in a bus’ contest. Here the participants had to travel in the BMTC buses and click pictures. The best entry would get featured on the green page.
Now we have a winner to this contest… Viral Patel!! RCB congratulates you on your victory and also appreciates the fact that you take the bus to commute within the city.
Here is the picture that impressed us the most…

Taking the bus is the most eco-friendly and convenient way to commute from one place to another within Bangalore. It drastically reduces the carbon emissions as one bus replaces a number of cars on the roads. This reduction in the amount of cars in turn leads to the reduction in traffic congestion.
The bus takes you to almost every nook and corner in the city, without you having to take the pains of knowing the routes and also, the worry of getting lost is gone. The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation [BMTC] has a very strong network throughout the city. If you take a good look at the BMTC website http://www.bmtcinfo.com/site/index.jsp, you will find out that- it has over 79000 trips, nearly 13lakh kilometers serving over 43lakh people every day. Now those are some REAL big figures! It covers every small bus stop and even the out-skirts of the city like Yelahanka, Kadugodi etc.
The advantage of using buses does not end at lesser carbon emissions and reduction in traffic…you always think that you needed the ‘extra’ hours in the day to just read, knit, the hobbies that you are unable to practice in your busy life or even just take a small nap, you can always do while sitting in the bus unlike when driving a car. The savings that you can make are astonishing, as the bus is a lot more pocket-friendly when compared to the fuel cost.
The BMTC, as a part of its aim of providing quality public transport all through the city and t all sections in the society; celebrates ‘Bus Day’ on the 4th of every month. The objective of this day is to bring about the participation of all you Bangaloreans in taking a stand against the increasing pollution and climate change in the city. So pull up your socks and work toward the environment by taking the bus to work, schools, college and don’t forget to use the special bus service that is available on all match days in Bangalore. The BMTC has made post-match commute easy by organizing buses to all 12 corridors in the city at 5 minute intervals after the match is over. So for those of you who are cheering for RCB at the stadium, the late night travel is not going to be a problem!
RCB as a symbol of their commitment toward the environment and to encourage environmental friendly style of living also support bus-commute. All your favorite players travel in the bus to practice sessions and to matches. So RCBians put on your pads and join hands to support RCB in their Green mission.
To fully support bus-commute RCB brings to you an exciting new contest, ‘I travelled in a Bus’, all you have to do is travel in the bus for the next two days [4th and 5th of May 2012] send us your name, contact number, e-mail address and pictures at community@royalchallengers.com and the best pictures that we receive will be featured on the RCB Green Page.

RCB is happy to launch a contest that appreciates and acknowledges the efforts of corporate companies and delivering impact in the environment and sustainability space, RCB Green Corporate.
Over the last 3 years RCB has been working towards increasing awareness on environment issues and enabling switchover of individuals to environment friendly lifestyle through the medium of cricket.
