The RCB's Go Green initiative is a small step towards addressing the issue of global warming and reducing its impact on our environment. We intend to reduce our carbon foot-print & hence have started various initiatives. What we want is your active support and cooperation.

Now since IPL-3 is over and Champions league is expected to
start only in early September, we would like ours fans to take the centre stage
and take our green initiatives forward by going green in their day to day
activities. For all those who think that going green is a cumbersome and
lengthy process, just look at how RCB went green this IPL by taking simple and
effective measures like RCB buses, waste segregation at stadium, car pooling
etc. We are not asking you to do different things here; we just want you to do
them smartly and differently to ensure that we do less or no damage to our
environment in the whole process. From today, we will be posting possible steps
that can be undertaken by you in your daily routine to reduce your personal
carbon footprint. To start with, today we encourage our fans to reduce their
energy consumption at home by doing the following:
“Reduce the cooling requirements at home by using ceiling
fans in conjunction with air conditioners”
Using ceiling fans in conjunction with air conditioners
ensures that the cooled air spreads uniformly throughout the room. This makes
it possible to run the air conditioner at a higher temperature without compromising
on the comfort levels!!! Each degree rise in temperature setting reduces the
electricity bill by around 3-4 % and hence this initiative will not only reduce
your environmental impact but will also reduce your monthly electricity bills.
Do post your comments, feedback and if possible reduction in
your monthly electricity bills due to this initiative.
