The theme for this year’s World Environment Day is “Many Species. One Planet. One Future”. The concept of biodiversity preservation deserves and more importantly needs better environmental attention. UNEP (United Nations Environment Program) has done the right thing by drawing the world’s attention to the problem of biodiversity preservation. RCB’s Indian fans must be aware of the recent “Save our tigers” campaign launched by a telecom company in association with WWF to draw people’s attention to the issue of illegal poaching of tigers. We need more of such initiatives to make people understand and acknowledge the need for preserving biodiversity. Preserving biodiversity has been a very integral part of RCB’s green initiatives. You all must have seen Dr. Vijay Mallaya, Siddhart Mallaya and RCB players watering sapling (locally rare species were chosen) before the match on 25th of March. Similarly, the sapling project for fans was aimed at planting more and more trees to ensure that we live by our reputation of being the Garden City of India. We look forward to receiving more ideas in this regard from our fans in the Go Green category of Idea Champion competition. See you all at the Fan Summit on 12th June.
