The first match was just a bad dream to be forgotten. After that RC performed very well in the matches played at the hometown.. Uthappa was the finisher for most of the matches. But in the DD match the start which Warner gave just boosted the match,where the RC players never came back… Some bad decisions in the CSK match cost us with the defeat. Otherwise it was a fantastic play in the initial phase of our 7 matches. Steyn was always a star with a powerpack batting by Kallis,Uthappa and Kohli. Kumble gave a splendid spell which was very economic and picked odd wickets. Though Vinay was very Costly but picked wickets. All in all it was the whole team which gave us the result.This was the story till 31st March. After which Kallis started loosing his grip.

After the 2 continuous defeat RCB went to Mohali to play against the bottom in table Kings Punjab. We had the confidence as we defeated them in our home ground. This confidence helped us to get the winning momentum.

RCB won the match with 6 wickets with the cracking innings bu Uthappa who changed the match completely. There was good contribution by KP and Kohli as well. Most of the bowlers turned costly. But Uthaapa came in changed the complete scenario.

After which RCB had a bad session with loosing against the Delhi and the defending champions DC. Against Delhi and DC Kallis gave a good start but it could not be carried away for victory. Again the bowling failed badly. Kohli was good with the Bat with DC. Pravin Kumar was pathetic and loosing the grip completely Vinay turned out to be very costly and the fileding as well was horrible. We had 2 consistent defeats because of our Bowling.

Coming back to our home ground against the wounded Kolkatta. Kumble bowled a spectacular spell and was most adorable. Pravin Kumar was flop on 3 continuous matches for very high RR. There was no difficulty when we have Uthhappa on one side. Dravid gave a spectacular start and Uthappa finished it again with the victory

The bad batting performance resulted in a defeat against the DC. Steyn gave a very good spell with cracking t he initial wickets and later Vinay joined the party. but the batting was poor. Accept for dravid and Uthappa trying to save the match but it was all in vain.

It never was difficult to defeat RR as we have done it several times. the stars of this match was undoubtedly Steyn with the ball and KP with the Bat. An awesome way to get it to the top.

A match which changed the tables and which made problems was RCB v/s Mi where everything changed. even there was a possibility of RCB not qualifying for Semis. In the initial overs it looked fine where Bowlers did a good job but the slogging overs MI just overtook and smashed to a splendid target of 192.But our Batsmen put a very poor show right.

The performers in this phase where Rahul Dravid, Kevin Peterson, Robin Uthappa and with the bowl Dale Steyn,Anil Kumble and Vinay to a certain extent in picking wickets. The major drawback was Pravin Kumar, Manish Pandey and Kallis as well who never gave the needed start for RCB

After the match against MI finally RCB reaches the Semi. But we had to face the Mighty MI again. But this time it was 1-1 as we defeated MI in their hometown once and they defeated RCB in Bangalore. Now time to show our strength. As MI started batting in the initial overs it was RCB dominating the game but the overs progressed Mi was back into the attack. The match which looked to be going RCB’s way changed course suddenly with Tiwary and Pollard bombarding from both the ends going ballistic. It was the final 5 overs which mattered wherein 77 runs came. Anil failed to restrict the score. Keeping a trget of 184 in mind RCB got shattered wright from the openers. Though Ross Taylor was playing. But MI bowlers just stool away everything from him. It seemed to be a one sided performance where the complete RCB team is to be blamed. Though RCB lost the semi's still had a hopes to qualify for the champions trophy. Keeping in mind that we have had 3 continuous defeat against DC right from IPL 2009. RCB had to play against them for the play off match. The complete credit goes to the bowlers wherein they restricted the opponents with just 82 on board which was the lowest total ever in IPL. The stars where Anil,Pravin Kallis and Dravid,KP with the bat who finished off the match in style. The DC completely surrendered and RCB made to the champions League 2010.
