PHASE 1 : Sachin Kodagali - ABD!!! 's review for rc's performance
Strong on Paper, Great start to the IPL 3 season, Jacques kallis the reason and RCB looked in complete posession. This is how i would sum up the first few matches of Bangalore's Campaign in the 1st phase of IPL.
Well my thoughts just before the IPL III - Bangalore were the strong contenders and they had the right players to make it into the last four. They had slow start to this edition with meager loss to Saurav's KKR and as every cricket fanatic thinks i too thought 'oh is it going to be a steep climb from here', well that wasnt to be and what i term after the first match would be the golden phase of whole campaign for RCB.
What followed was - Jacques Kallis calling all shots. It all started with a great run chase against punjab and then defeating Rajasthan Royally which was a repeat feat of the first match in IPL II in South Africa.

Next came our real big test against the red hot Mumbai Indians. Noisy Mumbai Crowd with every inch of it supporting Tendulkars Men greeted the RCB. Again classy Kallis and World cup T20 selected Vinay Kumar proved that we could do what most of the teams couldnt do to Mumbai in Mumbai.

Well next were the neighbours Chennai Super kings and credit goes to Uthappa and sloppy fielding from Super kings and we registerd our fourth consecutive win.
So Kumbles wiley spin, Kallis Class, Uthappas smashes and more but a loss to struggling daredevils and to CSK in the return match in chennai left the teams think tank brain churning.
All in all tremendous start to Namma Bengalurus IPL Campaign and right at the end of phase I, Kumble should have been thinking semis spot is just 4 matches away.
Good review :)

Very nice review, i like the first paragraph which exactly mentions RCB's paths in the first phase

TO be correct , playing kallis on top slot ,is a big mistake ,as you can see his strike rate and compare it with master blaster sachin ramesh tendulkar ,not to mention he was having a lot of pressure on him as no other batsman he could relay on but for kallis soo many big gun 2 follow ,he might have won u sum matches but u lost then too at crucial moment just bcoz of slow run rate ,having soo many big guns in line-up , thats one of ur weakness ,soo every batsmen except robin and rahul: aall r playing like ,they r having net practices ,and last but not least playing rahul at 6-7 is a big big mistake ,shd be playing at 3... 9 out 10 times he will win u matches ...sum body hav 2 loose at given day but atleast u can give ur heart out ....mm give RCB supporter nd will remain ,mm might not be there r u wen u r winning but u will always find me at ur corner wen u r down nd out ...keep spirited !!! keep smiling !! Work hard !! sum day we will be at top slot :)

PHASE 2 : Sachin Kodagali - ABD!!! 's review for rc's performance
Inconsistent RCB team after two consecutive losses stepped into the next set of matches with a agenda to qualify for semis. Analysis a. Form Team Perspective - Little shaky as they had lost there last two matches. Fan Perspective - Fans never stop cheering especially we RCB fans and why not when the next match is against out of form Kings XI Punjab team. b. Home/Away Of the next 7 matches, RCB had 4 away and 3 home matches. Of course in T20 there is less advantage that a team can have if there are playing in there own den. c. Form Players and Team Composition Pluses - Kallis, Ever Reliable Kumble, Uthappa were all in good form. New Arrivals - Pietersen and Taylors arrival was a big boost to the middle order Also i am expecting the likes of dravid to come early in the order and hold the fort so that other power hitters can revolve around him. Our pace bowling was a definite worry. Match by Match Review Few Acronyms i have used below, MIA - Match Impact Analysis POM - Player of the Match RCB vs Kings XI Punjab - Challenge : Kings XI havent fired in the early stages, RCB must not get complacent. MIA: From KXP - Expensive over by Brett lee and sloppy fielding that included a dolly dropped by Sreessanth made sure KXP had a usual day in IPL III. From RCB - Pietersen's match winning 66 and Uthappa's big hits in 16th over of Brett lee was enough to secure a much needed win for RCB. Winning team/POM : RCB/KP Road to semis: 5 wins of 8 and things were just beginning to look rosy for RCB after there consecutive losses in the previous matches. RCB vs Delhi Daredevils - Challenge : To win against Delhi and make it 1-1 in IPL III and continue there winning streak. MIA: From RCB: Abhimanyu Mithun leaking runs and very poor middle order batting by RCB lead to there lose. From DD: Paul collingwood's composed yet breezy innings, good start by the openers, add it to mishra, sangwans three wicket spells. Delhi yet again defeated RCB. Winning team/POM : DD/Paul Collingwood Road to semis: Inconsistency really is starting to show up in RCB's ranks with last few results looking as follows - WLLWL. RCB vs Deccan Chargers - Challenge : To win and inch closer to semis spot by defeating the out of sorts DC. MIA: From RCB: Kallis and Kohils good partnership made sure that the team from bengaluru did get a very good total but inconsistent bowling made sure the result was not on expected lines. From DC: Good Bowling from Ojha but a superb partnership from Suman and Roy aka Symonds helped DC successfully chase a massive 183. Winning team/POM : DC/Suman Road to semis: Have the bells started to ring? Is kumble worried mid way through the tournament?. Well not yet but certainly long way to go for RCB ... RCB vs Kolkata Knight Riders - Challenge : To get through KKR and surge ahead in the Points table. MIA: From RCB: Good come back by the bowlers especially Vinay Kumar in the second half of the KKR's innings and Dravids well paced innings meant that RCB won convincingly. From KKR: Good start but poor all round performance for the next 30 overs meant kolkata dipped further in the table Winning Team/POM : RCB/Vinay Kumar Road to semis: Well sigh of relief for kumble/jennings but they know that qualifying to semis is still long way with many teams like CSR, DC making good claim for the top 4 spot. RCB vs DC - Challenge : To win and get closer to semis and in all probability knock out Deccan Chargers. MIA: From RCB: Dravid's good form and good opening spell by the new ball bowlers were the only positives on what can be termed as a poor day at the park for RCB. From DC: Harmeet singh's fast leg cutters and rohit sharma's in time innings made sure DC got out of danger and had there semifinal hopes intact Winning Team/POM : DC/Harmeet Singh Road to Semis: Back to inconsistent ways, strong on paper but very poor on the day. Semis looked a Jig Saw Pizzle now. RCB vs Rajasthan Royals - Challenge : Massive, massive game for both the sides, a virtual quarter final. MIA: From RCB: Consistent bowling by everyone in the RCB ranks and KP coming to party yet again made sure RCB won easily. From RR: Very poor day for shane warne's royals and they were virtually knocked out unless there was a miracle or two and other results went there way. Winning Team/POM : RCB/KP Road to semis: Well RCB are almost through, they would however have liked to finish the match in lesser overs. RCB vs Mumbai Indians - Challenge: Bomb outside the ground and a vociferous crowd inside the stadium, one more win against MI this season would be icing on the cake. MIA: From RCB: Bowlers leaked runs and very poor batting performance in a explosion delayed start. From Mumbai: Rayudu and Duminy cameos and good allround effort meant mumbai were way ahead of other teams and also may have just defeated the team they may face in the first semifinals. Winning Team/POM : MI/Ryan Mclaren Road to semis: Ah thank god we mostly made it to the last four thanks to the net run rate we had maintained throughout the tournament. Overall : A topsy turby performance by the team. A double loss to DC was the major impact in this phase but good Net run rate was good enough to carry Mallya Owned Royal Challengers Bangalore to get into the semifinals. What next? : Major news - Semifinals shifted to Mumbai from Bangalore and a huge disappointment to RCB fans and more so for me as i had booked tickets to watch the semifinal Champions League - Chance to win IPL III topped by even greater chance to qualify for the Champions League.
Nice review buddy. Reply to Wizard Prince's previous comments : "to look rosy for RCB after there consecutive losses in the previous matches. I think you misread there as three. I think sachin meant there that of 8 matches winning 5 was good overall after there two {consecutive} losses.

Nicely written review, however, "Road to semis: 5 wins of 8 and things were just beginning to look rosy for RCB after there consecutive losses in the previous matches." I think it was two losses to Delhi and CSK and not three". Good luck

PHASE 3 : Sachin Kodagali - ABD!!! 's review for rc's performance
IPL Phase III Review : RCB had a mixed run in the tournament but with there superior net run rate went into the semis. Improvement Areas before the semifinals: Bowling - All bowlers except Kumble and to some extent Vinay Kumar needed to raise there game. They needed to perform collectively as a bowling unit. Batting - We have a great batting unit, one which is the best compared to other teams in this IPL. We have power hitters in Uthappa, KP, Ross and players who can pace the innings as well as attack like Kallis, Dravid, Kohli. They need to be consistent, play according to the situation. We depend heavily on our batting and it had let us down in few of the matches in the league phase. Fielding/Running between the wickets : T20 is all about How you convert your, one's into two's and two's into three's and also how you hit stumps regularly, take a great catch etc. One great catch or few sharp singles can turn the match on its head.We needed to be more consistent and continue improving on these areas. RCB vs Mumbai - Fan(s) Cheer : This is a Big test for you RCB. Go RCB Go and defeat mumbai in there own backyard. RCB's Chances : Playing a inform mumbai in mumbai was a tough proposition. But a positive for RCB was that they had defeated this very side in early stages of the IPL at there home ground. Toss : Sachin won the toss and elected to bat first. Even if kumble had won the toss most likely he would have sent the Mumbai Indians to bat, so toss wasnt much of a indicator. Match Analysis : As it was in the last league match, RCB took early wickets. Steyn removed the greatest batsman of all time and captain of MI Tendulkar. Rayudu again came to the fore and combined with Saurabh Tiwary for a very good partnership. Steyn's two wickets and Pietersen's economic spell didnt prevent Mumbai from getting to score of 184 thanks largely to pollards explosive innings at the end. We had a new opening partnership, Dravid and Kallis. Unfortunately Dravid got run out and we lost Kallis early. Even though Uthappa made a 13 ball 26, we kept losing crucial wickets including that of pietersen and kohli. Even though Taylor was there at the end, he didnt get any support from other lower order batsman, run rate kept mounting and we eventually lost the match by 35 runs. Pollard had a great match both with the bat and ball, he was deservedly declared player of the match. Fan(s) Reaction : All RCB fans were extremely disappointed after the loss, but it was the better who had won the match. 3rd Play Off - Deccan also lost to Chennai in the other semifinal. It was thanks to IPL organizers that we had a playoff for 3rd spot and not the net run rate which will decide the 3rd team that will go to the Champions League. Fan(s) Cheer : Fans were really eager to see RCB go to champions league. Everyone i am sure wouldnt have forgotten IPL II finals lose to the same team. "Chargers ki dhulayi karo, aur champions league qualify karo' Toss : Kumble wasnt lucky with the toss again and Gilchrist choose to bat first. Match Analysis : It turned to be one of the best bowling efforts by the boys. Removing Gilchrist, Sharma and Symonds very early helped. It was kumbles day he not only got his opposite number (Reminded me of his first over in IPL II Semifinals) but also went on to take 4 wickets (4/16 in 3.3 overs to be precise). Anirudh singh played a lone hand to set a paultry 83 to win. RCB just needed to complete formalities and they did that by finishing the match in 13.5 overs. Dravid and Pietersen combined for a 60+ run partnership after kallis fell early in the run chase. Our Captain won the Man of the Match and he again showed to the younger kids his great skills and never say die attitude. Fan(s) Reaction : Thank god we are in the Champions League and waw we smashed Deccan chargers like no one has done ever before. That Rounded of RCB's Campaign in IPL III, a disappointing 3rd spot but another chance to make amends in the Champions League. Positives : * Kallis was awesome , he held the purple cap for long time. He definitely is a great inspiration for young kids and our RCB youngsters would have learnt a lot from him. * Uthappa had a great season. I was surprised not to see him board a flight to caribbean for the World Cup, something that selectors need to think now that we have crashed out in super 8's. * Kumble is a inspiring leader. I think he will continuing playing in IPL and makes sure that we win the trophy next year. Looking Forward: * To see Youngsters like Pandey (who had a poor season) and Vinay Kumar ( a good IPL) should put there hands up and help RCB win more matches. * To the Chamipons League and getting chance to cheer our team again. As i end the review i just want to say one thing : I really love my RCB team and will cheer them during there high's and low's
In Reply to When ever did Kallis get the Purple Cap????? - I think sachin didnt mention about Kallis winning purple cap but kallis was front runner to win the cap ...
