PHASE 1 : gururaj m j's review for rc's performance
After previous years edition which was held in South Africa.IPL was back to its home Place and the expectations on last year finalists were also high. For the first time we RCB were regarded as pre tournament favourites. But the first match of phase I against KKR was not more than an eye opener for RCB,a nightmare you would say. Apart from a gritty innings from Kallis there was nothing to take away from that match. Once again in the second match against KXIP our bowling was weak and it conceded over 200 runs. At the half way stage nobody except hardcore fans of RCB would have hoped of RCB win. But there came the turning point for RCB.One of the most dramatic innings of the IPL season 51 of 21 balls by the demolisher from coorg 'Robin Uthappa' changed the momentum towards RCB which was well supported by Kallis with 89 of 55 balls. This win triggered the RCB bowlers who demolished the RR's batting under 100 in the next match and a easy win was in the pocket for RCB. The next match was with the Mumbai Indians who were unbeaten at that stage and match was in their den. But inspired spell from 'Davangere express' Vinay Kumar removing three wickets in an over changed the match in favor of RCB.Pandey and Kallis made sure there were no Hick-ups in the chase. The next match against CSK in home ground was almost lost until the demolisher showed his talent of six hitting with 6 tower breakers against CSK which made sure a tough target of 170+ to chase for CSK and RCB bowlers responded by defending. The next two matches of the phase-I was a sad story as far as RCB were concerned. The first defeat at home against DD.By the time of match against CSK in Chennai the stars in the side KP, White had arrived and they got the chance right away still we could not score much more than 160 which resulted in a loss. By the next match there was the previous years star 'ROSS' was to arrive and hopes were flying high by the time.

PHASE 2 : gururaj m j's review for rc's performance
After a good phase 1, then came the business end of the tournament where 7 out of 8 teams were in race for the semifinal spot. Although Mumbai Indians had booked their spot for the semifinals. It was the time for other teams to pull up their socks and perform before it’s too late. For RCB the last years star ross had arrived and the expectations from RCB even went higher. Actually phase-2 started of brilliantly with a win against Kxip with spectacular batting performance from KP and Uthappa. But the next match was one of the worst match of RCB through the whole tournament as they faced DD in their home town. For a single minute RCB did not look that they are going to win the match. The next match was against last years champions Deccan Chargers, this was the first time they were facing them in this year after 9 matches. And batsmen showed there grit and put up a wonderful display of batting performance scored over 180 runs but the bowlers did not back their batsmen as Andrew symonds and Suman made merry of the bowling. By this time, RCB which was cruising to the semifinals in the mid way of the tournament was facing a tough task ahead of them to qualify for the semifinals. The next match was against KKR, it was said to be revenge time for RCB and they did take revenge by beating comfortably without any hiccups. Within 5 days RCB were facing DC for the second time. First time it was due to bowlers mistake this time it was batters mistake that they couldn't chase 140 plus target. So facing down the barrel RCB had a task of winning 2out of 2 in next matches. They came across Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur where RR had lost only one match which was the previous match against MI.RCB bowlers showed the way from the start and a thumping victory over them and this almost secured a semifinal spot as they had maintained a healthy run rate through out the tournament. And the next was against MI in Bangalore. Before the match started there were some unwanted incidents outside the ground had affected the mentality of the players and they eventually lost the match to MI which they should have won if they didn’t have to face MI in semifinals. Nevertheless second phase was a mixture of more failures and less success for RCB.One of the main reason was Ross form was not so good and Kallis’s form was dipping compared to starting of the tournament.

PHASE 3 : gururaj m j's review for rc's performance
The Satish had bet that his team RCB will win the semifinals v/s Mumbai Indians with his wife Sumithra who had betted MI will win as she was a fan of Sachin Tendulkar. The bet was of 500Rs.Satish left the office by 7.00 pm and caught in the traffic he reached home by 8.30.By the time he reached home it was already 2 wickets down for mi and Sachin was back in the pavilion there was no end to joy of Satish. When the wicket of Duminy fell Satish was over the top and his wife was fuming. But when Sourabh tiwary and Pollard joined hands and the score shot up to 180+ in no time. This was the time for Sumithra to take revenge she danced and shouted. But Satish was not even disturbed by this. When the RCB started innings and Jacques Kallis went early Satish started to feel the heat but Rahul and Uthappa fought hard and gave Satish a hope of winning the bet and securing Rs.500 but that day was not for RCB as Dravid and Uthappa fell one after the other and finally there was no fight and RCB lost the match quite comfortably and Satish also lost his 500. On that day he was so upset with his side and his wife he was not interested in anything and this went for two days. By that time he did not remember that there will be third place play-off which was scheduled on that day ,that too with last years champions Deccan Chargers. That he left the office at 8.00 pm and by then he reached home almost 6 wickets of Deccan chargers were lost he thought may be his wife was watching some highlights. After sometime he realized that it was live match going on and he could not believe what was happening DC were bowled out within 100 and slowly he asked why the match is going on?. After that he lost interest in the food which he was supposed to eat and he was once again in the praying mode for his teams win and they won in style by 9 wickets. After the match is wife gifted him a T-shirt which had similarity to RCB jersey which she had brought from that 500rs. which she had won in the bet. By looking at that smiles became stronger and tears rolled off. That’s why they say "ALL IZZ WELL that ends WELL". And by the time they would be watching Champions League in South Africa there will be small guest with them watching the matches of RCB but not BETTING. Betting is injurious to self and family.
