PHASE 1 : nikhil ravishankar's review for rc's performance
Performance match-wise: Match 1: RCB vs KKR Finally RCB begin the tournament. Everybody expects the team to perform exceptionally well as they are one of the pre tournament favourites. Positives: *Kallis finds some form at the beginning of the tournament. *Praveen Kumar and Anil Kumble bowl their heart out to emerge with an economy rate of 4.00 and 4.75 respectively, which is really fabulous for t20's. * Dale Steyn bowls at mindblowing speeds, though he goes for runs Negatives: *Failure of wonderkid Manish Pandey at the top of the order. *Poor team selection. *Not able to get going in the powerplays. Result: RCB lose thus losing some self-confidence. Match 2: RCB vs KXIP After a loss in the first game, fans expect RCB to come up on top against KXIP. Positives: *Kallis continues his fabulous form, missing a century by 11 runs. *Pandey gets off to a good start and times the ball well but is not able to convert it into a big innings. *Robin Uthappa is at his best. His change in stance and grip has brought him really positive results. He breathtakingly races to his 51 off just 21 balls. Negatives: *Inability to pick wickets at early stages. *Inability to restrict Punjab within 200. *The story of the match is 'Dropped Catches' Result: RCB win bringing themselves a lot of confidence. Match 3: RCB vs RR RCB look to continue their winning form against season 1 winners Rajasthan Royals who will stop at nothing to reclaim their lost glory. Positives: *Kallis agin fires and so does Pandey. *All bowlers end up with economy rates of less than 7. *Great fielding effort by RCB. Negatives: *No negatives to take from this game...only positives!!! Result: RCB score the second biggest victory in terms of balls-to-spare and move to the 2nd spot on the points table. Match 4: RCB vs MI RCB run against table toppers Mumbai Indians and have to beat them to replace them at the top of the table. Positives: *Kallis remains unbeaten for the 4th consecutive time in the tournament and lays his hands on the orange cap. *Vinay Kumar picks up 3 wickets in an over including that of Tendulkar's which turns out to be the turning point of the game. *Kumble makes some questionable decisions but is rewarded in the end just to show everyone why he is the best captain around. *Dale Steyn bowls with fire in his eyes to claim 3 wickets at speeds exceeding 150 km/h. Negatives: *After impressive performances in the first few games, Praveen Kumar goes for many a run. Result: RCB cruise to a 7 wicket victory with 5 balls to spare to move replace Mumbai at the top of the table and become hot favourites to win the tournament. Match 5:RCB vs CSK RCB have to face eventual winners Chennai Super Kings in the absence of Mahendra Singh Dhoni for the latter. Positives: *Robin Uthappa does it again for RCB with a amazing knock of 68 off 38. *Vinay Kumar continues his good bowling for by picking 4 wickets. *Not giving up even when the match was tilting the other side. Negatives: *You can't call it a negative but Kallis finally is dismissed in the tournament. *Failure of the much talked about Eoin Morgan. *Early dismissal of all batsmen leaving Uthappa with much to do. Result: Rcb defeat CSK by 36 runs to cruise to their 4th consecutive win. Match 6: RCB vs DD RCB are not to surprisingly expected to beat DD comfortably. Positives: *Future RCB captain Virat Kohli finds some form. *Vinay Kumar continues with his impressive bowling form. *Pandey plays a fine innings. Negatives: *Once again RCB do not fire during the powerplay leaving a lot to do in the last few overs. *Kallis struggles to continue his impressive form. *Too many run outs. Result: RCB lose their second match of the season by 17 runs. Match 7: RC vs CSK After defeating Chennai in their previous encounter, Kumble and his men are expected to repeat it in chennai's own backyard. positives: *Kallis finds his form again. *Pietersen and White, returning from national duty look impressive. *Kohli plays a matured innings. Negatives: *Praveen Kumar once again goes for too many runs. *Poor captaincy might have cost RCB the match. *Kallis look very poor with his bowling. Result: RCB end phase 1 with a loss by 5 wickets. Overall review: RCB, coming into the tournament were favourites. They were expected to win each and every match. After a loss in the first match, they cruise to 4 consecutive victories. Positives: *Kallis is at his best. Whoever says that Kallis is not fit for t20's will have to look at phase 1 of IPL 3. *Uthappa is at his breathtaking best with match saving performances in almost every game. With the extra burden of wicket keeping, he doesn't disappoint. *Vinay Kumar bowls beautifully to take wickets at crucial stages to turn the game around on many an occasion. *Dale Steyn bowls consistently in the 150-155 km/h range bamboozling the batsmen on many occasions. Negatives: *Manish Pandey is timing the ball very well but is not able to convert his starts into big innings. *Praveen Kumar is not his effective self going for too many runs. *Poor team selection has done the team in on a few occasions. *Much talked about Eoin Morgan fails to deliver. Overall Result: RCB have performed well, but they are not at their best
Very nice review....keep it up...i am sure you will win
