RC's performance in Phase 2 has been rather checkered and to be forgotten sooner. With 3 wins and 4 losses, we were not good enough to win the IPL this time. However, the highlight of this phase was, the guys started to look confident and quickly realized that the wins in Phase 1 do not matter at all if we do not keep the momentum all through the league. This phase exposed our virgin and untested middle order to rival teams.

Highs during Phase 2:
--Confidence boosting wins.
--Maintained the net run rate.
--Realized the importance of the middle order batting.
--The team's feet was grounded and was able to keep the winning momentum.

Lows during Phase 2:
--Lost some close matches that should have been won easily.
--Added more pressure on ourselves by losing matches.
--Kallis' was not able to sustain and peak the scoring as required though he did wonderfully well.
--Chinks in the batting were exposed.

Overall, for a die-hard RC fan, this phase made a lot of difference. The result from this phase dented the RC fan's confidence in the team and it required a lot from Anil's men to cheer the fans and instil confidence in them. This phase was very critical in deciding the berths for the semis. To add salt to the wounds, the bomb blast near the stadium sent the semi finals away to Mumbai.
