The semis got shifted which had some effect on RCB as the home support would have motivated them a bit. Some one like a Ross Taylor who wasn't n great form during this season could have used the home support. The playes know the pitch and the ground pretty well so it was a factor.
When MI came out to bat we got Sachin out early which was very important. Things went well in the power play for us. We were able to keep the top 3 batsman quiet as well as J P Duminy who took the last match away from us which was very important but the finds of the tournament Rayudu and Tiwary took the game away from us scoring 40 and 52 each. The last jolt came from KP big Kieron Pollard who made about 33 from 13 balls. The pacers failed miserably when it mattered and only Kumble and a unusual Pietersen did a good job giving 3o and 20 from the 4 overs picking a wicket each.
In our cahse things went well till the 9 th over when we were 81 but we lostt our six hitter Uthappa :( then Dravid then Kholi things just didnt pick up from there and sending Manish so down didn't help either. Then Pollard picked up 3 of our wickets. Guess it was meant to be his day.
ALL HOPE WAS NOT LOST. W e still had the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TO PLAY FOR. AFTER ALL THAT ALSO MATTERS A LOT.
DC who had defeated us in last 3 encounters were may be over confident they can do it again. but NAMMA BENGALURU BOYS KUMBLE AND DRAVID took the team home by taking 4 wickets and scoring 35 runs to take the team to 3rd place. The bowlers were magical today getting them all out for 82 runs.
I WOULD HAVE BEEN A LOT SATISFIED IF WE HAD MADE IT TO THE FINALS BUT SOMETHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING I GUESS. A HORROR START WITH A FAIRY TALE ENDING :)
IT WILL BE THE LAST CHANCE FOR THE BOYS TO WIN IT AS A UNIT CAUSE THEY WILL BA SEPARATED NEXT YEAR COZ OF THE AUCTION HOPE U WILL IT AND MAKE US AND OUR CITY PROUD BOYS
