Jamaluddin Syed Mohammad started his cricket at a young age of 13 and his first coach was Abdul
Jabbar. 27-year old Syed, born in Tamil Nadu, played his debut List A match for TN against Railways.
He took 3/23 with the team's best economy rate of 3.23; but Railways snatched a 1-run win in a nail-
biting finish.
The reason he has very little List-A experience (just three games in five years) is because between
2007 and 2008, Syed decided to ply his trade in the now defunct Indian Cricket League. Syed is a
slow left-arm orthodox bowler. The other teams that he has been a part of are the Tamil Nadu
Under-19s, ICL India XI and Chennai Superstars in the ICL and RCB. In his debut match for Chennai
Superstars, Syed took 4 wickets and scored 48 not out. In his Twenty20 career, he has bowled a total
of 42 overs and taken 11 wickets with 2/23 being his BBF.
As every bowler dreams of, he had Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar stumped in the playoff against
MI in DLF IPL 2011 cruising RCB to the finals of DLF IPL 2011.
IPL Highlights
RCB vs KKR
Syed returned with excellent figures of 4-0-20-1 in the debut IPL match against KKR assisting in a
fabulous win for RCB.
RCB vs DD
In this match, RCB had 161 as the target to chase. Though Syed could not fire as the bowler, he
scored crucial 13 runs against Delhi Daredevils to lead RCB to victory in his 2nd Match.
Known as 'Little man with big heart' for his style of bowling, Asad returned with figures of 2/25 in 4
overs in the playoffs against MI in DLF IPL 2011.

Syed u r perfect. U DID YOUR JOB WELL. we don't have nothing to blame on u. i dont know why vettori didn't call u earlier for batting as there are many overs left...we know u bat well too...
the reason for the final failure is NO TEAM WORK! and NO CONFIDENCE! anyway..u have done well according to us
